Did you know that there are postage stamps that actually have pictures of celebrities on them? I thought that was really strange. I came across this website:

Yes, I collect stamps. Several celebrities have appeared on U.S. commemorative stamps (incl. Lucille Ball, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe,
Humphrey Bogart, and many, many others). Even more have appeared on
foreign stamps (incl. The Three Stooges, The Beatles, Howdy Doody, etc.).

Most celebrity stamps come from countries in the Caribbean Lesser Antilles, which are tiny specks on the map and issue stamps specifically for collectors; while valid for postage, they're not often used for such. Also, stamps issued from the even shiekdoms that comprise the United Arab Emirates are designed primarily to rip off collectors. Serious stamp collectors like myself refer to these stamps as "sand dune stamps" because that's all you find in the places that issue them!

Bob Hope should definitely be honored with a U.S. commemorative stamp. This
comedian was not only a star of vaudeville, radio, movies and television but,
for his USO work for our soldiers alone he should be remembered.

You'll have to wait until 2013. Except for U.S. Presidents, a person has to be dead for at least ten years to appear on a U.S. stamp.

I knew there was a time limit but wasn't sure how many years. Thanks.

Those stamps are cool. If you are a fan of a specfic celebrity, you can express your love of that celebrity by putting a stamp of that celeb. Personally, I would like to see the American Idols on stamps and classic sitcom celebrity stamps. :)
