Hey all the "Roseanne" fans out there. I'm just interested to know if all you DVD collector's are planning on buying the Final Season on DVD when it's released. I know many, many, many people hate that last year. I personally LOVE IT!..I'd still buy it if I didn't like it. I have this thing where, when I buy a set, I have to complete the entire series.(LOL)...SO I just wanna know your thoughts on the season 9 DVD.

I definately intend to get season 9. It's not Roseanne at it's peak but I still think it was much better than the awful seventh season and I like it more than the first year as well. Roseanne's a show I intend on owning every season of.

I aggree, however I would pick some 1st and 7th Season episodes over some 9th Season episodes, but I still do like it, The last season was refreshing, I didn't like seasons 7 & 8 that much and even though 9 was totally different and not "Roseanne-ish" I liked Most (about 2/3 of the eps) alot especially The Season Finale know matter how much people say it is bad, so all In all, Yes I will be getting Roseanne Season 9

I will definitely pick up the final seasons. I just like knowing I'll have the Complete collection, even though the last season wasn't as nearly as good as the earlier ones.

Has anyone picked up Seaosn 2 yet? I'm going to Best buy today.

I'm sure it will do well, but of the series season 9 will very likely do the least best of all 9 seasons in sales.

actually, I think season 9 might do reasonably well if only for the fact that N@N keeps skipping Roseambo. Granted, it wouldn't be a high seller for the series, but I think that every Roseanne fan who buys them up to season 8 would likely go ahead and pick up season 9 for completions sake.

I think season 5 or 6 will be my cut-off point. I've never been too particularly fond of the later seasons.

yes, season 6 was really the last "great" season (season 7 was pretty bad IMO but for reasons Roseanne couldn't control [she missed a large number of episodes because she got very sick during her pregnancy, and frankly focusing the show on Dan and David/Mark/Fred didn't help keep the quality up while she was getting better], but seasons 8 and 9 both had their share of great episodes alongside not-so-great episodes), ironically it starts going downhill in the last fourth of the season, which was when Roseanne and Tom Arnold split up. You could tell just how important he was to the process of the show even if he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, IMO, the show started really taking off in the second of season 2 which was, bingo, when Roseanne and Tom married.

Seasons 7, 8, and 9 tend to be my favorites.

Seasons 8 and 9 I do think are quite underrated. I notice that people who loved the show in early seasons but stopped watching after season 5 or 6 seriously hate season 9, but those who continued watching the show during seasons 7 and 8 happen to think season 9 isn't all that bad. For the most part, seasons 8 and 9 have a lot in common with the new sets and the fact that they seemed quite a bit brighter than earlier years. I think 4-6 was the show at it's peak but seasons 8 and 9 both had a lot of great episodes, it's just that most people dismissed the show for being past it's prime and didn't give it a shot any longer. I don't think 7-9 are the best seasons but I'll still own all three years, even though I do feel that season 7 was it's nadir.

I'd rather spend money on the ninth season dvd as long as its uncut than spending money on the junky season one set.

How could I not buy season 9? I think season 9 was definitely one of the better seasons just because of uniquness fromt eh rest of the show, and how different it was. And even the the ratings went tremendoulsy down that year, I like it maybe even the best. As for the episode Roseambo, the episode has been banned from television ever since its original airing on ABC (even though I saw it once on CBS when it was airing at 9:00 in the morning) because if its theme of terrorism and racism, so I really would enjoy wathcing that episode again on the DVD set (its been awhile). Also, nick at nite is now beginning to skip many season 9 episodes, including "Millions from Heaven" and "Satan, Darling," which should be on tonight but arent. Those are some of my favorite episodes of the season, and I can't believe NIck at Nite is skipping them. I also would enjoy watching the series finale unedited because I only saw it unedited once, back in 1997. I think a lot of people will buy this set whether they like the season or not, just to complete the collection!

As for the other seasons, I think the later seasons were better, I don't know why, but the ratings were definitely worse for season 6-9. Season 7 was the worst, I agree, because the season focused too much around Becky and Mark and Dan syarted acting stupid. Just my opinion, but why do so many people hate the Disney World episode? I love the first part where they're on the plane, and also where they're at home making the preparations for the trip.

Me Too!!!!......I love the Wedding, the finale, the Dinosaur through the TV, and who could ever forget that great moment (from S8?) in the Diner when Leon tells Rosey they don't have a drive through "NEXT!!":talk:
