I'm not talking about a song that you hate, but a singer's actual voice that irritates you. Growing up, I use to go into convulsions when I heard Carly Simon or James Taylor's voice. Actual convulsions! I since grew out of it, but I still don't like the sound of their voices.

Gwen Stefani.
When I first heard her sing, I was like, well, that's interesting. But that got old really fast and now I just find her nasal voice irritating.:barf:

Ashley Tisdale. She plays Maddie on The Suite Life of Zack And Cody. When she sang in one episode, her voice was high and shrill. She sang annoyingly. some even say that her voice sounded as if she'd sucked on helium........ It wasn't a pretty sound.........

Britney Spears, I hate that grunt she does while she sings. It's like they record her singing while she's sitting on the toilet. puke:

Why not, that's where her career has gone.

I had a feeling somebody was going to bring Britney into this. :( Lmao

I'm going to go with Eminem. I used to absolutely HATE him, then I really liked him for a while and now I just sort of casually like him...but I could take it or leave it.

Anyway, he has some catchy songs, but that nasaly singing voice he uses sounds to me like Fran Drescher is taking up a career in rapping.

Bob Dylan. Great songwriter, but the guy's voice just gets to me.

If Michael Bolton comes on, I have to turn the radio off. The guy sounds like he has a migraine or is in extreme pain. I'm not joking this time.

I like some of Bolton's music, but I won't lie... he sounds like he's going through a particularly violent bout with constipation on his "When A Man Loves A Woman"

I guess Carly and James' "Mockingbird" is one of your favorite songs ever then?

I love Carly Simon's music, but James Taylor's extremely nasal voice grates on my last nerve, I can't stand it, not to say he has bad music, but that voice really keeps me from liking it.

I think the reason I hate Styx so much is because of Dennis Deyoung's voice. "Come Sail Away" is alright but even that's mostly because it sounded like something Queen would do.

The lead singer for Fall Out Boy - He sounds like he got kicked squarely in the nuts right before he recorded his songs.

You mean Roger Hodgson, the group's frontman. You'll disagree with me on this, but when he left Supertramp, the group foundered. Just as Queen fnas say, "No Freddie, no Queen!" I say "No Hodgson, no Supertramp!"

'Cause I'm a purist, ya see. :D

Lisa Kudrow on "Friends". I like the show "Friends" and I find it funny, but I just cringe every time I hear her sing "Stinky Cat" or any of the other songs she sings on the show.

Was Roger Hodgson the one that sang lead on songs like "The Long Way Home", "The Logical Song", etc? If so, I couldn't stand how he sung. ohno:

actually, Yoko's "singing" improved a great deal around the time of Lennon's death and in the years passing. Granted, she'll never be a Streisand or Aretha, but her singing is tolerable in her latter works IMO

I cannot stand Rascal Flatts, because of the lead singer's voice. It is SO incredibly whiny and irritating. I don't understand why so many people love them. Also the lead singer of Sugarland's voice...awful. It's so unbelievably pitchy and off-key. I cringe when I hear both of those.
