I grew up watching the Torkelsons (yup, I was about Mary Sue's age when it started... hehe) and this was the first episode i saw and it's still my fave today ashleyyvonne 02-15-2002, 08:38 PM the one where dorthy jane buys that formal dress from the thrift store and that girl new it was heres and pulled off the flower her mom glued on and it showed the ink stain Exotica 10-09-2003, 02:41 AM Maybe in the 'Almost Home' series when the dad's brother comes to visit. tlc38tlc38 03-16-2014, 09:21 AM "Fence Neighbors" I love when they cement their washer and dryer down...classic scene! 90skid4ever 07-04-2014, 12:01 AM "Fence Neighbors" I love when they cement their washer and dryer down...classic scene! The pilot was great for so many reasons. I have many favorite episodes all for different reasons. A few of the more "emotionally pulling" episodes for me are: - Men Don't Leave: for obvious reasons, I just can't get over the realness of Randal making those kids dreams come true for two days of carnivals and ferris wheel riding only to walk out them once again, dashing all of the hopes of Millicent's 4 children. Dorthy Jane, the eldest already has it figured out and is not persuaded by his attempts at intimacy, she knows he is going to leave and waits for him on the top of the stairs for what she knows will be his final night. She doesn't wait to say goodbye until he is out the door. - Swear Not By The Moon: DorthyJane getting to "live" her "dream" of being with Riley Roberts in Romeo & Juliet. She dreams that Riley is out her window the night of the play. Then wakes up to realize he is not there, all she has is her dreams. - Return to Sender: The beautiful reunion between Patty Duke and William Schalert make this episode amazing all by itself but the Boarder Hodges wanting to stay with The Torkelsons because he knows that those people really love him the most makes it all the move poignant. Finnegan 10-26-2014, 02:21 PM I had completely forgotten about this show. I used to watch it on the Disney Channel. It was a really great show! The theme was kind of depressing-poor family trying to make ends meet, but the episodes weren't as depressing as you would think a show on that theme would be. My favorite episode is the one with the formal dress. That snotty girl who ripped the flower off reminded me of all the mean girls I've ever encountered in school. Blackout 12-06-2014, 02:37 AM the ones with Minkus tlc38tlc38 12-06-2014, 06:17 AM I really do wish this show would get a DVD release. I have a bootleg that I got on ioffer but the quality is horrid, it doesn't even have a way to watch individual episodes...it's basically a "play all" DVD only. |
