Today I finally got to see Grady and I must say that it was a lot better than I was expecting. I wasn't expecting it to be funny or anywhere near Sanford and Son but it was good. I liked the concept of him living with his daughter and I liked him being a grandpa. The neighbor was also very funny. She was your average idiot but she played it real well. I have a question though why didn't the show work?

Grady was unable to compete with-"Waltons" on CBS during Thursdays Nights. Waltons was a Popular Show on Thursdays Nights During 1975.
BTW: TV Guide Critics in 1975 liked "GRADY" more than "SANFORD AND SON" It was said that Sanford and Son was "One Dimesional"

that's to bad they did not move it to a better time. I think it could have lasted at least three seasons.
I don't understand critics at all. Especially TV Guide critics.

The stupid move by NBC was moving Grady from 8pm on Thursdays Nights to 8:30pm on Thursdays Nights. I guess NBC forgot that the Waltons on CBS was on from 8pm to 9pm-lol

Thursdays in 1975 look very weak for NBC. These began in September: The Montefuscos (Sept-Oct), Fay (Sept-Oct), Ellery Queen (Sept-Dec), and Medical Story (Sept-Jan).
A very scary thought is that Thursdays and Fridays were the only slots sitcoms had that year at least in September.

After Fay was cancelled, Grady was moved to that slot in Dec of 75

I had never even heard of that until I looked up the 75 schedule.
Audra Lindley from Three's Company was in it.

No way it could have been better than Sanford and Son.
Sanford and Son is one of the all time greatest sitcoms.

It comes from doing a lot of research on this show since 2002.
