Are there any commercials that, for some inexplicable reason, just creep you out?
I know for me those Burger King commercials with the guy who has that head that looks like it came off of a deck of cards, particularly the one where he is running down the football field, is just odd to me.
Another one is that Overstock.com Christmas commercial they have been showing recently where the spokeslady is walking down the street singing to the tune of Jingle Bells. I don't know why I find that one creepy. Maybe it is the weird music(it sounds kind of like the tune they kept singing on the movie Halloween 3 ..."8 more days til Halloween, halloween, halloween"... that one) combined with the almost otherwordly look of the spokeslady. Like she's not quite human or something.:lol:

I'm not talking about commercials you hate; I know there are plenty of those that we all hate; but rather the commercials that for some reason you can't really figure out, give you a weird "ooky" feeling inside.;)

- A few years ago (circa 2002 or 2003), they had this commercial for Dryel that REALLY creeped me out...Remember? It was the one with two mannequins in it. There was a lady mannequin standing in the store window and she realizes she needs to dry-clean her clothes...then you see a man mannequin staring at her as she undresses. EWWWWWWWW! :eek:

The one where this girl's room is being filled with water and she ultimately drowns. It was an anti-drug commercial. They play this scary piano music and go "BANG"(it ssounded as if someone put their finger on the piano key and left it there for about three seconds) as her lifeless body floats past the screen at the end. Still creeps me out after all these years.....:eek:

That commercial is creepy to me because the thought of your toenail being being lifted up like they showed that yellow thing doing is painful in its self. I ran my toe underneith a dishwasher once and it basically did that....Not fun.

I did something similar too. Some years ago, I was at my stepfamily's cabin. The living room there is connected to the bedroom. Part of the bedroom, at the entrance, has a lineloum floor. THe rest of it is carpet. And you know these weird, cheap-looking rugs you usually see in RVs and whatnot? They don't have the plastic backing on them, so it is easy to bunch up the rug while standing on it. Anyway, my stepgrandpa was about to turn 70 and we were throwing a surprise party for him. One of my stepsisters called me into the bedroom to sign a card for him. I ran in, skidded on that cheap-looking rug they had in there and my left big toe slammed into the square floor fan. ****ING OW. I thought I broke my toe at first, OW. I almost ripped my toenail off like that too. :crying:

Ok, there are two anti-drug commercials from the 80s and early 90s that always creep me out. I still remember them to this day!

The first one is this one drug dealer walking down the street in the dark. He's talking about how sneaky he is, and all we see is his silohuette walking down a dark city street. At the end of the commercial, the guy comes up to the screen and says: "And do I look like a guy that would trick and kill you?" and he answers it with: "YESSS" and we see he's a snake. Have you seen that new Napster commercial? I'm not sure if it's actually made it to TV (too racy, undoubtedly), but you can find it at www.getthewholething.com. I find the beginning of it very creepy -- with the weird dungeon-like room and the men looking through peep holes or something. but then when she starts dancing, it's all alright.

I agree with the Burger King, although, I'm pretty sure we're supposed to find him creepy. So in that respect, I guess kudos to BK for a successful ad campaign. I think the one with him I find most frightening is where he's up on a high rise building being built and the guy is like drilling in a bolt on a support bean and the King peeks his head around the beam to give him coffee. That one's the worse cause I know if it was me I'd fall off the high-rise.

I also agree with those Charles Schwab investing commercials. I don't like those animated people.

But the commercial that freaks me out the most I think, for some unknown reason, is that Best Buy one that has the Black-Eyed Peas in it. It's something about how you can control anything at Best Buy, even the Black Eyed Peas. There's the part where they sing and they're normal "...something something Black Eyes Peas be rappin' it....blah blah blah" and then they cut to a scene where they're just standing there and they get all big and distorted while they wail "riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight nooooooooooow" or something like that. For some reason that totally creeps me out and I can barely watch it.

Anyone remember the Quizno's commercials? They had what looked like a two potato chips playing guitars and singing? Well, on this radio show i get here, there was a segment abt that commercial with people calling in saying how disgusting that commercial was because it looked like two hairy rats instead of chips. No one found that commercial pleasing...as a matter of fact, alot of people were not going to Quizno's because of that commercial.
