I don't think Stephanie was grumpy, Jesse was much grumpier!

Fred sanford sanford and sonOn "Sanford and Son",In the first three season episodes,(and some fourth season episodes)Fred was pretty nice.It was in the fifth and last season that Fred became not-so-nice and grumpy.Lamont was the grumpy one at first(sometimes downright mean to Fred in the early episodes),but they toned down the character later on.Another grumpy character (he didn't start out grumpy,)was Hilton Lucas on Bill Cosby's last series,"Cosby".His wife Ruth(played by Phylicia Rashad of "The Cosby Show"-on THAT show,she and Bill Cosby played a REALLY LOVING COUPLE),was grumpy at first,but they toned her character down some.

And on "Green Acres",Oliver didn't start out grumpy,either.He changed about halfway through the series,and,beginning with second season,went from being nice one minute to being grumpy the next.In the last two seasons of the series,he changed to a TOTAL grouch.

Lou Marie from That Girl could be pretty grumpy too, especially around Donald.

Mr.Spacely #2 (played by the late,great Mel Blanc)on the 1980's syndicated version of "The Jetsons".Mr.Spacely #1(ALSO played by the late,great Mel Blanc)on the ABC ORIGINAL version of "The Jetsons" was a LOT nicer,still grumpy,but fairly likable.Mr.Spacely #2 was not."Mr.Burns"on the "The Simpsons" is just as bad as Mr.Spacely #2,if not worse.

"Maj.Frank Burns" on M*A*S*H.This was a character that NO ONE liked-(or should I say very few people liked)No,not even Col.Blake or Col.Potter-although Col.Blake always(well,most times)sided with Margaret and Burns,although I heard once that Loretta Swit said that her character "Maj.Margaret ("Hot Lips")Houlihan"did NOT like the Frank Burns character.You know what would have been great?If they did a show where Burns and Winchester had met.Those two characters wouldn't have gotten along at ALL.

Oscar Leroy ( Eric Peterson) from CORNER GAS.....Not only is Oscar known for calling everyone in town "Jackass", sooner or later; he drives the local Cops nuts by calling them daily and asking him to arrest everyone and everything that annoys him, then calling them Jackasses when they dont do anything about it. He comes into the gas station to complain about everything his son does in the old family business, despite the fact that he retired 5 years ago. Oscar has been BANNED from every "helpline" in town!!! :lol:

Gary from Back To You can be pretty grumpy at times. Then again, if I was stuck in a car with Marsh driving, I would be a grouch, too!! :rofl:

Unless I've missed it, Dr. Frasier Crane. But sometimes he went past grumpy and went straight to downright mean and ugly!

On "Green Acres",in some episodes,Lisa(yes,I said Lisa)could be grumpy,too.In the episode "What Happened in Scranton",she got mad at the other farmers,and lectured them,and then was nice again to them,(and they listened to her ),in the episode "Wings over Hooterville"she got mad at Mr.Haney,and later she AND Mr.Haney got mad at Oliver,and in "Music to Milkk By",she was a bit irritated at first when she woke up,and in "Jealousy",she snapped at Eb,then was nice again.Also,in the first season old house episodes especially(the character was toned down in the second season/old house and third-sixth season Universal City Studios new house years-in the new house years,the character was REALLY toned down)Ward Cleaver on "Leave it to Beaver".

Oops!Typo.In my above post,I meant the "Green Acres"episode "Music to Milk By".And in that same episode,Eb got grumpy with Eleanor the cow.

Loren Bray on Dr. Quinn. He was always grumpy to everyone so they would leave him alone. It really was a front though because he really had a gentle side to him and we would see it come out quite often. ;)
