The Late Show with David Letterman (10.1/24) [CBS]
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (4.6/11) [NBC]
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (3.3/12) [CBS]
Nightline (2.9/6) [ABC]
Late Night with Conan O' Brien (2.1/7) [NBC]
Last Call with Carson Daly (1.4/6) [NBC]
Jimmy Kimmel Live (1.3/4) [ABC]
Thoguhts: The 24 following 10.1 means that out of all late-night-broadcast watching households in America, 24% were watching Letterman last night. TWENTY FOUR PERCENT. In terms of butts-in-the-seats, the last time Dave did this well was when he was doing "Late Night" on NBC, back when there weren't any alternatives!
Being a (the only?) Craig Ferguson fan, I'm delighted to see him perform numbers that high, even if they're almost entirely due to the Dave/Oprah lead-in. I genuinely believe that now that a larger audience has been exposed to the show, his numbers will stay up - though obviously not at these levels. And it's just strange to see Conan in FIFTH place on the Night, due to a strong showing by Ferguson.
ABC should look at cancelling Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy's ok, but the numbers...they're just...bad. Even reflective of the time period (Midnight in most markets)
