I am curious to know what everyone does for a living... what is your job/occupation?

I work help desk in the IT departmant at Magna.

I am currently a 4th year veterinary student in my clinical year (that's the last year! :woohoo: )

Next year I plan to do an internship....just had to post-pone that "real-world" thing for one more year....actually it's not really post-poning the real world as I will still be a practicing doctor.....but it won't be my permanent job.

Right now I am doing a great job procrastinating studying for my National Board Exam which is -YIKES!- 6 days away!

I just finished up by stint as a full time student... glad to be through with that job!!

I'm a Data Entry Operator for NY State Senate Services. Basically what I do is add in new voters, update information for existing voters, type letters, delete people who have either moved out of state or died. It's cool that they let you play on the internet during the downtimes. Which roughly July to January.
we get some little jobs here and there.

Full-time journalism major about to start my 3rd year of college. :faint: Probably won't have my bachelor's degree til 2008...

I am a full-time college student, and like PZelda, I probably won't be done until 2008.

Receptionist for a building that has several specialty clinics with in it. In other words, I get yelled at for not knowing every little thing about every doctor and clinic. :p I know more about the building and who's here than most of the other receptionists.

I'm almost done with a home-study course to get a certificate in Medical Front Office and in Pharmacy Technology. And some day I *might* get a degree in Health Care Management. Don't know about that one.

If I weren't terrified of needles and bodily waste, I'd go into something more clinical.

Right now I'm studying massage therapy, and will be finished with the program in 2 months. I love it, but there are other specific areas I'd like to go into some time in the next couple of years.

Once I'm licensed as a massage therapist, I plan to continue education and double as a counselor of some sort, and then once I've got those things going well for me I want to dip into the world of Thai massage, too.

I am a paralegal. I used to work for a firm in Calabasas. I now do this work in my home. My specialty is Family Law. I also own an apartment building, so there's alot of work in that. I am also a mother to three children, two daughters ages 21 (22 on Christmas) & 16. I also have a son who just turned four. So, I do many many many things. I also do volunteer work at my local parish twice a week.

I'm a high school senior and I work as a cashier at Steve and Barry's.

I work for a construction company. We do structural steel, concrete, excavations etc. We weld stuff.

I'm a full time college student majoring in English (with the hopes of becoming a creative writing professor) and minoring in criminal psychology. I work part-time at a family-owned grocery store.

college. i quit my job last month. i have 19 credit hours next semester... kill me.

I quit my job several weeks ago to prepare for my soon to be born son. The doctor told me to stay in bed as much as possible. I worked as a shipping/receiving clerk. I also do illustrating part time. I don't plan on going back to work anytime soon. I will be a stay at home mom for now.

I am an Americorps member. I'm with an environmental program based in Austin, TX. We build and maintain trails, remove invasive tree species and work to beautify Central Texas.

That's our standard work day. However, recently I was a part of two crews who traveled to East Texas and New Orleans to participate in clean up efforts after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

This is the most rewarding job I've ever had, and I've learned and done so much. I love my co-workers and so many doors have opened up to me. I've signed up for a full year of service next year, and I look forward to it!

High school junior and I work for the management of the Ingleside Mall which is the second biggest in the state... so it pretty much sucks.

I work for a local radio station here in the southern California. I work as an entertainment director; basically my job is book local bands for networking their music on our program:) I am planning to quit my job, save some of my money, and create my own internet music magazine that topics on upcoming, or local, or international bands around LA area or beyond (stay tuned):)

During the day, I work in the Accouting/payroll dept. of the WV State Legislature, and I'm a city police officer at night. I like the second job a lot better because I get to use a taser :lol:

I'm a cashier at a grocery store. I had a customer the other day say that he been to alot of stores around Grand Rapids, and I was one of the best cashiers he's ever had.:D

Ooooh....this is a pet peeve of mine, sorry! You can't judge until you know what you're comparing!

My school is one of the only in the area that operates on quarters instead of semesters. Credit hours are weighted differently. A 5 credit hour class at a quarter school is the equivalent of a 2-3 credit hour class at a semester school.

This is a pet peeve of mine because I had to endure years of my father wanting to know why I wasn't "working as hard" because I was only taking 3 classes compared to my other friends who were taking 5. It was the same number of credit hours!

I also do illustrating part time.

That's cool, what do you illustrate? Maybe you could be like a free-lance illustrator and work from home....that'd be cool!

Dude, I was only kidding... notice how I said "na, but seriously, that is tough" below that. I wasn't trying to undercut anybody.

and another thing, while we're not judging before we know the situation, that 21 hours was straight technical course... not fillers in there at all, which i'm sure you're in the same boat with yours... and 2 of those hours was a co-op position... so at the time, I was working about 20 hours a week *while only getting 2 credit hours* AND taking 19 hour credit hours at school.

then he's dumb... he doesn't know anything until he realizes that it might only be 3 course... but some courses carry more credit hours (and sometimes, they don't carry what they're worth... i've taken 3 hour course that I swear felt like 5)

I was just pointing out (for other people that may not know-like maybe the kids on here that haven't hit college yet) that sometimes the comparison is not always as cut and dry as it seems.

I would love to...well...no, I wouldn't, LOVE to have a job, I would love to have more money, but I'm ridiculously busy, so that kinda prevents that.

I have to FIND ways to make money though because...hey, gas prices. So, I get an allowance, and I babysit for people and my mom used to have maids come and clean our house once a month but when we walked into rooms that they "cleaned" and there was dust everywhere...we weren't happy, so I took over that job, that helps, I make some money doing that. But I've become so much more practical over the past year because I'm paying for more of my stuff, and I don't have time for a job. I can't remember the last time I went out and bought something...like a cd...I buy gas. And I'm not driving to the mall and stuff like that. I intern at my dad's office, and I take acting classes 20 miles away from where I live and the gas goes fast.

But, yea, I'm a high school junior, I'm taking AP classes, and an independent study project. I'm involved in shows at my school, as well as community shows. I take a musical theatre dance class, acting class, and voice lessons. And all the rehearsals add up. And I'm not just doing this as a hobby, it's what I want to do with my life, so the fact that I can't go out and buy new clothes or a cd, well, what can you do?

I am a high school senior and trying to get a job anywhere. I am joining a bowling league and it is $10 a week so I don't care what the job is as long as I have enough money for my league.

I'm technically a bagger for Kroger. However, since we got a new manager (back in May) I've become a cleaner. Which is actually considered a promotion. I'm still listed as a bagger, but I just go around cleaning everything. I'm full time, so I work Mon-Fri, 7:00am to 3:30am. I've been at Kroger for five years (in a couple weeks, I started 12/18/00) and I desperately want out. This weekend I've been trying to come up with a plan for my future. I'm thinking about finally going to college. I don't have my driver's license, so I have to work to get that first. I've got to do something with my life, but I'm so freakin' lazy!

My mom, who also works at Kroger, in the bakery, doesn't want me to up and quit Kroger (which I've been talking about lately) because I have insurance.

I am a sophomore in high school :D

I'm a senior in high school trying to earn the grades so I can go to college and actually earn myself a living! :lol: I'm involved in extracurriculars at school; I'm Associated Student Body Secretary, president of Multicultural Club, and Managing Editor of the school newspaper. On most Fridays and Saturdays I work in the concession stands at Century 20 Theaters. The rest of my time, I'm here. :p
