Anyone have any cookies or candies (either store-bought or homemade) that they love to make or eat around the holidays?

I found this recipe a couple years back for these chocolate mint cookies with powdered sugar. I love those things.

My mom used to make homemade cherry mash that was good. I'm trying to get her to do it this year after a several year hiatus.

My mom makes the best fudge, ever. Assuming she doesn't poison it with walnuts or something. Mmmmmm...fudge.

A few years back we started making these cookies that have I believe an oatmeal base, and they have chunks of chocolate, toffee, and dried cherries in them. These are the most awesome cookies ever! I think they may be -gasp!- a Martha recipie.

My cousin used to always make these awesome frosted sugar cookies for the Christmas reunion. They were my favorite thing there.

When I was younger we used to always make sugar cookies with the sugar crystals sprinkled on top, or red hots, or little chocolate chips, etc. That was fun and while I can't say I've exactly outgrown it, I suppose these days I just don't feel I have the time for that.

I also love Snickerdoodles, not that those are a holiday cookie. Neither are the Martha ones.

My favorite holiday candy is the simple, the elegant, the fun-filled: candy cane.

Ooo...nononono...putting nuts in things is BAD. :barf:

Well, with the exception of the peanut on occasion.

Scottish Shortbread. We have a friend of the family who used to make it.
I wish she still did.

Butter cookies, the kind you get in decorative tins.

It's disgustingly sweet and sinful. It also rips your fillings out. It's colorful and folded up like ribbon.

I think it is called trash. It's Chex Mix with peanut butter and powdered sugar on it. I can never remember if its called trash or garbage but either way its nothing like the name suggests.
