On one of the shows I saw this weekend there was a terrible goof. It appeared that the stage lights caused some black hair dye to roll down the right side of Florida's face! :eek:

I can't remember, but I think she was wearing a purple skirt outfit. Any DVD folks out there that can help us out? :) It was an episode that had James, so that should narrow things down a little.

The episode was when James found the bag of money, "The Windfall."

I notice her sweating and first I thought it was her make-up running, then I thought it was too dark for her make-up, so I guess it was her hair dye. But I guess my first thought was right according to others.

It was her makeup, Hair dye doesn't run LOL. Stage makeup is very heavy and dark to take on the lights. So that's why it was so dark and plus she was a darker woman so her makeup would be also.

It looked TOO dark to be makeup to me and it was only on her right side. I remember looking at that and wondering why wouldn't they reshoot those scenes. Kinda like the earring episode--- it was too wierd! :eek:

I don't know what nationality you are or if your even a woman. But women of color, foundations and blushes are dark than others. And it being stage make up makes it even darker. Esther was a very dark woman and so her makeup would be dark also.

I'm African-American and that was hair dye! :eek: I hope they play that episode again soon!

hmmm, i agree with you Brie...hair dye shouldn't run. If it did, it wasn't hair dye, it must have been some spray on color or something to that effect. When have I ever seen hair dye run? Never. I agree with the makeup being that she needed foundation, you could tell she wore it, her face was so shiny all the time. She either had an oily face, or the hot studio lights just caused her to sweat so much it made her makeup run. I have seen makeup run.

Yeah I've seen makeup run, especially when you see women cry, you can see streaks from where it has washed the makeup away. I went to a fashion show yesterday and made the mistake of wearing white, not so smart when your hugging a lot of women, after the night was over I had foundation all over the collar of my blouse. So yes makeup comes off very easily.

I seen Good Times during it's first run in the 70's, and even then I said to myself, look at that make-up running! If it is hair dye, that is the cheapest hair dye in the world. Then again, look at the sets how bad they were. I wouldn't put it past Norman Lear to get the cheapest hair stuff for Florida.

You can see it on The Windfall you can tell that it's sweat because she's sweating on both sides of her face right in front of her ear. If you have the zoom tool on your DVD player you can see that's it's makeup because you can see her skin tone from where the makeup has ran. Also there's another episode where she's sweats but I don't feel like looking for it :crazy:

I have never seen hair dye run. That spray stuff to temp color your hair may run if one sweats alot, but I can't see for what reason that would be used on Esther. I know what you mean abt foundation. Man, I have seen that stuff on my blouses. When women wear foundation and they sweat or have oily skin, that stuff runs off pretty good.

I had stated in my previous post that it might be a spray on of some sort. as for the temp dye, my sister had used that once and yes it washes down the drain. One can easily see that Flo had a little gray on top of her head. They probably did use something to cover that up since she is supposed to be the same age as James. who knows. i would really have to look at the episode again, but like i said, since the episode's first run, i always thought it to be make-up.
