Who the hell was that girl for even lighting up a cigarette in their home? People WITH MANNERS would have asked if it was okay to have a cigarette in their home. When people have asked if they could smoke, I tell them OUTSIDE YES THEY CAN SMOKE, but not in my home. I have even had people who automatically just go outside and have a cigarette because they know it's rude to smoke in someone else's house.

I know what you mean. It's all her fault. If she didn't smoke inside Penny wouldn't have picked it up and put it under the couch starting the fire.

Good Times and alot of Norman Lear's shows were basically a PSA abt alot of things. I think that's the most irritating to me abt these shows when I see them now. I don't want to be preached at, statistics and all. there could have been a better way of dealing with issues without them being preachy abt it.

Anyone here watch "Rodney" on ABC? His episodes tend to lean towards this Norman Lear style; HOWEVER!!! it is done in such a way that you don't even realize it, until the end, there's a message. For example, I watched the Halloween episode of RODNEY, it was abt an illegal alien who stowed on Rodney's truck and spent a few days with Rodney (against his wishes); eventually Rodney and his family experienced a little of the discrimination that "lower class" people are faced with, NOT ILLEGAL ALIENS, but people who are not other people's "class". It was so subtle. I even explained to my boyfriend the hidden message and he was just like "Oh yeah! Man, I didn't even realize that!"

But yet Wilona smoked.

Far as the girl concerned, like most smokers even the ones in my family or busstops they light up without considering other peoples lungs. But then she wouldn't have smoked if the brothers would have said do your thing boo but not here. Because I don't ever remember anybody smoking in that house before. They got in gangs, cursed ya out but never smoked.

I have to disagree. JJ didn't seem to mind her smoking in the apartment. He even tried to light it a couple of times. Then he threw the match in the couch and the audience moaned. WHY???? Fires are dangerous, but to throw one match down, I can't see it really starting a blaze.

JJ said he broke it off with Mandy because she smokes. He says he doesn't like women who smoke. JJ was just being courteous and not being rude like Mandy. He didn't want to tell her not to light up the cigarette. He was just being a gentleman. Who knows what he told her in private though when he left because that's when he came back in and said he hated women who smoke.

True but she was a guest in his house and if folks don't smoke in there before then why now? Should of let her know you cute but not up in here. Either she respected it or not
