View Full Version : DVD question abt Thelma and Keith getting married episodes...
Ireneparalegal 11-28-2005, 12:33 PM During Good Times first run, whenever they had a two-parter, three-parter or four-parter episode, right before they started the new episode for the evening, they would show bits and pieces of the previous episodes, to show what had already happened in the story, then a male announcer would say: "And now part ____". On tvland's version, you can hear the male voice saying "And now part ____". But they don't show any bits and pieces of the previous episodes. Do they show the bits and pieces on the DVD'S??????
vashti1999 11-28-2005, 12:36 PM They haven't done it on any of the previous multi-part episodes on dvd up to this point. They probably won't start now. They might have done it with the gang episodes where JJ was shot, but I'm not sure without having the dvds in front of me.
TVFactFan 11-28-2005, 03:33 PM You will also find out when season 6 is released that the scene with Keith and Thlema in the Hallway in Part 1 of Florida's Homecoming was CUT. I'm guessing this scene never made it to syndication.

If it's not on the TV ONE version it won't be on the DVD version. There has yet to be something on the DVD that's not on TV ONE for each season that's been released

Yet again I ask, How would you know? Lets just hope that on the 6th season DVD release they will give us a great bonus feature for once. Since it will be the last DVD

What I'm trying to explain to you is the scene probably no longer EXISTS which is why it's not on the TV ONE version.

First of you are lying because why would it be on Columbia House and not on the TV ONE version. You must talking about a Different scene

I have the Columbia House tapes too, that's why I wanted to know what happened in the scene your talking about that's cut out. Is it something they show in the opening credits when Keith is making some kind of funny face and movements in the hall with Thelma. Cause they do show that in the Columbia House tapes.

Even TVone would have to cut something, Just wait until the DVD comes out. Maybe your thinking of another scene LOL.

Well until one of those members POST THE ENTIRE HALLWAY SCENE, I will not believe it at all. Show me
sdb7373 11-29-2005, 03:27 PM In every TV Show there is out there not just Good Times but other television shows are cut/sliced and diced for TV because of the commercials that has to be aired. There are only two places you will be able to see ANY TV Show in FULL with no slicing and dicing certain scenes and they are: The original episode when it aired and on the DVD/Video collection and thats a known fact. TV One and TV Land does not show every single scene from GT or any other show. I've seen them and I know certain parts have been cut out. So the only way you will be able to see these shows with ALL the scenes is to get the DVD or video collections.

There are edited eps of Good times on the season 3 and 4 DVD so you are wrong
sdb7373 11-29-2005, 03:42 PM thats hard to believe...not saying youre wrong but why would they not have all the scenes on the dvd collection? I have the columbia house collection and NOTHING is edited out.
TVFactFan 11-29-2005, 03:53 PM thats hard to believe...not saying youre wrong but why would they not have all the scenes on the dvd collection? I have the columbia house collection and NOTHING is edited out.
You don;t know that for sure. The scenes I'm talking about that are missing were never in syndication. So it wasn't a edit that TV LAND would make, it's just a scene that never found it's way to syndication
TVFactFan 11-29-2005, 04:18 PM thats hard to believe...not saying youre wrong but why would they not have all the scenes on the dvd collection? I have the columbia house collection and NOTHING is edited out.
The edit is in "Michael's Great Romance" and "The Mural"
Ireneparalegal 11-29-2005, 06:33 PM But hasn't it been established already by owners of Columbia House tapes and DVD's that there are scenes cut out on the DVD's that Columbia House has left intact? I recall reading that on some other thread.
