Why in the heck would he buy an apartment? Why not get a house? $60,000 was alot of money back in 1979. The Evanses thought they were rich when they thought James was going to make $4.25 an hour. It just didn't make sense to me.

i agree, but then maybe he liked the idea of a penthouse, so he could look down on the city...some people like that sort of thing, having a view of the city, especially in the night. Me, I would prefer a home.

Maybe he didnt want to buy a house because remember at first his contract was for a million dollars now it was only for $60,000 so he probably didnt want to buy something like a house not knowing how is football career would turn out. Even though his knee healed in sports you never know what can happen to you so....
