that you wish ended up together.

Dave Nelson and Lisa Miller (NewsRadio) - They had an off again on again relationship. In the final season, Lisa up and married Johnny Johnson (Patrick Warburton).

Fonzie and Ashley (Happy Days) - They were only together for one season (the tenth) but they made a great couple. I was sad when she didn't return for the final season.

Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper (The Wonder Years) - I understand most kid thru teenage couples don't end up together, but I was still sad when the adult Kevin told us that he had a wife (not Winnie) and kids.

How about you?

I was sad too, and in disbelief when Kevin talked about meeting Winnie at the airport with his wife and kid. :( :( :(

Jack and Janet from Three's Company , without a doubt. I know they were just supposed to be friends in the show, but they had amazing chemistry together and the love between them was apparent.

Kevin and Winnie from The Wonder Years...I thought these two were so cute together. A perfect high school sweetheart type relationship :)

what about Jerry and Elaine on Seinfeld? you could tell they were toying with the idea that they could get together in the series finale yet they (thankfully) didn't bring it to fruition. Granted, they only were an item in ONE episode of the series (the season 2 finale), but they were a couple for a long time before the show started and some people wondered if they were going to wind up together.

I don't think that was Linda Purl's choice. I believe it was the producers' decision to cut the character. Too bad: Fonzie finally had a steady, adult relationship. Another year and who knows...maybe he would have shed the leather jacket once and for all.

It would have been nice for the finale if Ashley returned, begging Fonzie's forgiveness and Danny could have had a new Dad and a Mom. Oh, well...

YES alex and elaine in taxi!

Didn't they have at least have a one-night stand as I recall?? Not the same as ending up together, but at least it's something.

yes, there was an episode where they took a trip to europe together, and I THINK at the end of it, they spent the night together.

I agree with a lot that people have said.

Jack and Janet from Three's Company: I always had a thing for friends who discover a mutual attraction, and I think there was one there. Even the dating computer knew it!

Harry and Christine from Night Court: A textbook example of sitcoms' "We Obviously Really Care For Each Other and Would Like to Get Together, but It's Never Going to Happen for Reasons that are Frankly Unclear to Our Viewers."

Sam and Diane from Cheers: Heartbreaking... though probably for the best.

Alex and Elaine from Taxi: You know the episode where Latka takes on Alex's personality and he's about to reveal the secret to making Alex's life better, when suddenly his personality changes back? I'm forever convinced he was about to blurt out: "JUST MARRY ELAINE, STUPID!"

There are a couple of others:

Mike from Growing Pains and... Whoever: Remember in one of the later seasons, he was going to get married and got dumped at the altar? Well, so do I, and I found it very sad at the time... unfortunately I no longer remember the gal's name, so maybe it wasn't precisely an epic romance...

Pete and Sharon from "Two Guys and a Girl (and a Pizza Place)": They both ended up with other characters, but I always thought they'd be more fun together.

Howard Borden and Bob's Sister, "The Bob Newhart Show": I just felt sorry for Howard. That dude needed companionship badly, and it was nice to think there was one person in the world who was willing to put up with his quirks...

Ross and Rachel from "Friends": Oh, they did end up together? My mistake. I must just be referring to the part where they danced around each other (again, for basically no reason) so long that I no longer cared...

I'm sure I'm forgetting some...

Ross and Rachel got tiresome: The back-and-forth (will they or won't they), the bogus relationships that both had, Ross's marriage to Emily, their out-of-wedlock baby (which was unnecessary, as they hardly used her on the show).

After a while, you didn't care if they got together or not. Yes, they finally came together in the series finale, but by that point, the heat fizzled out.

As for Harry and Christine, they could've gotten together in the final episode.

As for Sam & Diane, they were better when they were at odds with each other. Even they realized it in the final episode when they were going to get married. A happy Sam & Diane would have been death.:D

I am surprised I'm the only person to mention Jerry and Elaine, I think a lot of people thought somehow, some way, those two were going to get back together at the end, especially since they even jokingly danced with the possibility in the series finale during the almost-plane crash

From How I Met Your Mother, and I should mention that the finale takes place in the future:

Barney Stinson and Robin Scherbatsky, who are getting divorced sometime this year (though might still be together).

Ted Mosby and Tracy McConnell, who are still together until 2024.

I agree about Ross and Rachel on FRIENDS, after they had broken up then got back together for what seemed like the 90th time you no longer cared.

There was no way in Earth either of those relationships were going to happen. Screech was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy into Lisa and Zack if he was going to lose Kelly it would be to Slater! Screech would be bounced in New York minute.
