View Full Version : Pat Morita dies bry 11-25-2005, 06:51 PM http://deathpager.com/2930024.html Dr. Thong 11-25-2005, 08:29 PM As far as I know, M*A*S*H was the only show where he used his regular speaking voice in his few appearances. Pat Morita had great comic timing and proved, as Mr. Miyagi, that he was a fine dramatic actor as well. Sorry to hear about his untimely passing. bry 11-25-2005, 08:47 PM sad to say that the link i listed above, plus another site i go to had talked about his death in the daytime. and NO ONE mentioned M*A*S*H. but they talked about every other thing he ever done. That's not too surprising, really - he only made a few appearances on the show and they were prior to his roles as Arnold on Happy Days and Mr. Miyagi in the Karate Kid movies. He was pretty much a character actor who appeared on several shows before that. His M*A*S*H role wasn't a career-defining role, though he did a fine job in the part. TJL 11-25-2005, 10:54 PM I wish Pat Morita made more than just two apperances on the show. Capt. Pak was a great character. I'll have to watch one of his episodes tonight in his honor. glenny 11-26-2005, 07:55 AM He also used his real voice on the few episodes of Sanford and Son he was in. He played a really cool dude in that show. Dr. Thong 11-26-2005, 04:01 PM He also used his real voice on the few episodes of Sanford and Son he was in. He played a really cool dude in that show. I've seen some Sanford And Son episodes, unfortunately none of which featured Pat Morita. He was one hardworking actor back in the '70s! |
