Reverend Jim just keeps on annoying me. I hated him, he was so obnoxious.

I think John Burns is really boring. I'm glad they got rid of them.

I don't have a least favorite character, but I do have a least favorite relationship. Of all the relationships on the show, I'm least fond of the one between Latka and Jim. In my opinion, it doesn't make sense to have a lot of interaction between two similar characters like Jim and Latka (similar in the fact that they are both strange characters whose roles in episodes that don't revolve around them is usually to say something funny/strange/unusual). Thankfully, the writers don't have them talk to each other very much, but they do on occasion, and it ain't the most brilliant of TV moments when they do, IMHO.

Another weird vibe came about when Tony would get mad at the "dumb" characters--Jim and Latka (even though Tony himself wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer). Tony got mad at Jim when the subject of the Vietnam War came up, and, though the episode numbers escape me at the moment, I think there were two shows when Latka and Tony were at each others' throats.

John was sooo boring. He had no relationships with the other characters and no funny lines.

John was my least favorite.

John was a bland and boring character and, as you know, he was gone after one season.

Of the rest of the characters the only one who got on my nerves was Simka. She was ok in small doses, especially with Latka becoming Vic, but overall she was just a female Latka and a bit grating.

Simka! Very rare that I liked any of her parts. That voice was just too much for me and was tough to sit through.

And for whatever reasoin, I liked John, go figure ha

I agree. I really disliked Andy Kaufman on so many levels. From many reports, he was very egotistical and an ass. His performances were very weird, once he read the Great Gatsby to an audience (for some reason). I never have seen him in anything that was remotely funny. He said that he was not a comedian, yet he was a performer who made people laugh. That right there made him a *********. No one on Taxi liked the man, and Tony Danza refused to be in "Man on the Moon", because he disliked Kaufman so much.

Youtube "Andy Kaufman on Fridays". Fridays was this great show that was a clone of SNL on ABC. Kaufman guest starred one night and during a skit, provoked a fight between him and Michael Richards, which escalated to the point where the producer and others were sent to break it up. Kaufman thought the skit sucked and changed it around and refused to do it, causing the dustup.

The guy would go on comedy tours to colleges and troll for anonymous sex. It was fairly obvious that he was very mygonistic and disliked women. The intergender wrestling bit was so stupid and tasteless. For those younguns out there, Kaufman would wrestle women and if the woman won, she would get $1000. Many women tried, but unfortunately none could kick his ass. The only reason anyone ever watched that was to cheer the woman on (which was the point). Then the ********* got into partnership with a Wrestling promotion in Memphis and became a "heel". Kaufman did videos where he insulted the people of my city, calling us dirty, uneducated hicks and hillbillies. On one video showed Kaufman pummelling an obese woman, figuring that a 250 pound woman is the same strength as a 250 pound man. The whole thing of course was fake, but he was a complete ass insulting a whole city of people.

I'm happy he's dead. Could you imagine 30 more years of this mincing oddball? If I knew where he was buried I would urinate on his grave. Me and Tony Danza and thousands of overweight women.

If that's true then why did Tony Danza appear in the Documentary Andy Kaufman: I'm From Hollywood? I always thought he didn't appear in Man on the Moon because of a scheduling conflict.

Anyway, my least favorite character is John Burns. I think the only time he ever made me laugh was when he argued with his wife in the episode "Money Troubles". He gets mad and throws an empty bowl on the floor. Yeah, he was dull.

Latka. He had a few moments here and there, but mostly he was just annoying. I never got why he was ever in anything at all after Taxi.

Just a side note, any one else get the impression that you can only love or hate Andy Kaufman? It seems as though you cannot just like or think this man is just okay. I, and along with some others just refuse to watch anythign starring this man or, the longest I'll put up with his presence on screen is on Taxi and then that's it for me. Then I know a couple of people who just adore him and will praise him like he's some sort of god to them.

John. Who was only in 1st season. Simka, just didn't like her. She seemed very angry to me. Ladka only sometimes. I loved him when he was Mr Personalities.
That's it.

My least favourite is probably Deborah. She's a bit too whiny for my liking, and doesn't have the hilarious deadpan humour that most of Raymond's family has.

This post belongs on the Everybody Loves Raymond board.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Bobby. His character was less than ok and he kept bothering us with his acting career; everyone would be talking and being funny and then he comes in saying he got a stupid audition.

It's also worth mentioning that when he left his lines were divided between DeVito and Lloyd with the same amount of laughs meaning he had no real contribution to the show.

yes yes yes to all of that. Especially if she was involved in an argument. Did not like most episodes that featured her.

Yeah I’d go with most of you for Latka and Jim. Could have lived without both. And I agree with some about Andy Kaufman-he got on my nerves too.

At first I was tempted to say Louie, but then I realized how much energy he brought to the show. Also, it was fun watching him get “owned” at times—like with Zena’s mother.

On occasion he showed a “nice” side too-like how he supported Elaine in”The Unkindest Cut” and got even for Her with the bitc*y hairdresser who cruelly messed up Elaine’s hair.

Either John or Bobby for me. Some of Bobby's episodes I really enjoy, but I wasn't crazy about his character in general. I don't really notice he's missing in 4-5. I liked the Tony/Bobby episodes, though. John was just too whiny for me. Too similar to Tony in a way as well.

Simka. Not very funny at all. Worse thing is Carol Kane won Emmy's for playing that character.

John Burns, played by Randall Carver. A pointless character who was duller than dishwater. The producers wisely wrote him off after the first season. Christopher Lloyd's Reverend Jim was a huge improvement.

Honestly, Bobby. Not in a sense where I'd go as far as to say that I hated his character, but he wore thin quickly for me.
