Freakzilla 06-11-2000, 08:00 PM My favorite episode is the one where Jim tries to cheer Elaine up by building a castle on her living room floor with parts of his van. It's just so weird and beautiful. postsketch 08-30-2000, 07:30 PM The one where Jim is taking the driving test to become a driver. The one where he asks the group what a yellow light and they they reply "slow down" so jim keeps saying it slower and slower...thats funny Richard 12-17-2000, 04:41 PM When Elaine helps the reclusive artist egt over his agoraphobia-and Jim accidentaly tricks him into getting out of the cab!!! ------------------ Richard Ranke mike 12-29-2000, 04:59 PM The one where Elaine goes to a swanky salon for a hairstyle and they massacre her hair. With all the mean things Louie did to the cabbies, he was great getting even for Elaine. Purple Velvet Bohemian 02-16-2001, 09:11 PM It has to be the one where Rev. Jim gets his cabbie's license to work for the cab company. I love that bit at the DMV; Jim- Psst, what does a yellow light mean? Bobby- Slow down Jim- W h a t ...d o e s...a...y e l l o w...l i g h t...m e a n ? Bobby- Slow down! Jim- W h a t ......d o e s......a......y e l l o w......l i g h t......m e a n? LOL! I love that, too funny! [This message has been edited by Purple Velvet Bohemian (edited 02-16-2001).] [This message has been edited by Purple Velvet Bohemian (edited 02-16-2001).] D. Ternowski 04-07-2001, 08:27 PM I have not seen Taxi in awhile so I don't remember the details of the show where Jim, Tony, Bobby, and Alex(I don't think Louie was there) went hunting or backpacking in the mountains and a bear ate their food. They sat in a cabin and waited for help. There was a great scene where Jim opens the door to the cabin and walks inside. The wind is blowing so strongly that it takes him a long time to close it. Brian S 04-08-2001, 07:38 PM That was the show where Bobby thought that,"we're going to die." Jim decided to go out and gather any food he could find. He brought back a handful of blue berries. As Jim was about to put them in his mouth, Alex sees that the berries are poisonous and stops him by holding his arm and telling Jim, "Those are blue berries but they're not blueberries". Jim believes Alex is going insane but pretends to act as though he believes Alex is making sense. Artfiore1 04-09-2001, 11:09 AM Hi all, I love the one, I think entitled "The Road Not Taken," in which each character tells a story about a turning point in their lives that led them to where they were. We got to see Alex as a semi-ambitious young office worker, Louie as a young cabbie with a bad attitude . . . and a full head of hair and a very studious Jim at Harvard, pre-drugs. His part of that episode featured a very funny performance by a young Tom Hanks as a VERY stoned schoolmate of Jim's. ------------------ Later, Art callmetootie 04-20-2001, 09:27 AM My favorite episode is "Blind Date", where Alex goes on a blind date with Angela, and he finds that she thinks badly of the way that she looks, but then he comes over and tries to cheer her up. It was just a really heartwarming episode. My other favorite are Scenzkees From A Marriage Part 1 and 2, and Alex meets his Daughter. ------------------ Andrew Carden goofy1 05-06-2001, 03:29 AM The driver's test is good. The building a thing out of his VW parts for Elaine was good. I think two better were when Elaine invites Jim to the upitty art dinner. Jim is trying to pass off small-talk. The entertainer can't make it and Jim volunteers, first doing his impression of a water cooler. Elaine is so embarassed and tells Jim they want someone to play the piano. She is taken back when Jim starts playing Chopsticks turning into perfect concert piano, stops and says "I must have had music lessons". Another good one, I think the best, was when they get together after their strike and tell about what they had been doing. Jim says "I was a door-to-door salesman and I would have kept doing it except for one thing" asked what, he replies "I didn't like it." Jim says verbatim what's on his greeting sheet, including "...Fill in name on blank" When the lady feels sorry for Jim, she reluctantly lets him in. Jim proceeds to pour ketchup, grease and dump ashes on the floor together. He says thats not a real test but grinds it into the carpet with his shoe. Jim assures her that its no problem for xyz vacuum cleaner. Jim opens the case and says "Where can I plug it in ?" and the lady says "A book ?" and Jim says "A book ?!"..."Oh yah, I didn't get the vacuum job... I'm selling encyclopedias." Another, I think it was Tony that got held up and Tony put his gun barrel in the robber's gun barrel. I believe that was the episode they were all talking about their misadventures in a certain cab. There were more funny things on that episode, but can't remember. That cockroach is funny. Taxi is great, hope they keep showning the reruns. the stevie wonder one was good also, when tony sings with him in the studio, ba-ba-ba-baby, good stuff Mel 06-11-2001, 03:09 PM Alex dancing in the gay bar and Rev Jim's driving test episodes are my two favorites. zack 07-02-2001, 11:23 AM My favorite show is when Bobby gets a job on a soap opera and tells off Louie, who knows he'll fail and come crawling back. Then Bobby gets fired and has to crawl back to Louie. The scene where Alex tries to persuade Louie not to humiliate Bobby is classic. Rosemary 07-08-2001, 02:05 AM my favorite episode is the one where latka buys an expensive apartment, and they throw a party to make money to help latka by the apartment.I also like the one where latka bakes cookies that have drugs in them and he doesn't know it. CalabashCorolla 07-09-2001, 10:35 PM Hmmm...where to begin? I like the one where Elaine goes out with Louie to end the strike, and she dresses in every stitch of clothing she owns! I also like the one where Louie turns the storage closet into a bomb shelter, and also the one where Jim buys all of the TV sets, and watches the "Delawarian-Delawarite" hearing. And, of course, the one where Latka makes the drug cookies and hallucinates that he sees Famous Amos! Rob 07-12-2001, 11:06 AM There are three episodes of the series that are my favorites: 1. When Jim comes to work for the cab company. 2. Latka assumes the obnoxious alter-ego of Vic Ferrari. 3. Alex and his dog ------------------ DetectiveGriffin 08-10-2001, 01:26 AM Too many great eps! I was lil' when i watched it, so I always remember when famous Amos came to visit Latka when he was making pot brownies? Something like that. KeithsSweetheart 08-24-2001, 12:32 AM My favorite episode is "Bobby's Big Break." The whole episode is great, and there is one scene I particularly love. Remember when Bobby read the script for the soap opera he was going to be in, and he realized that they wanted him to be a regular cast member on the show? You could just feel his joy, when he realized that he was going to be a full-time actor (although in the end, it didn't work out like he hoped it would)! But that scene was so heartwarming! I also loved Bobby's impersonation of Louie at the end of the episode. That was too funny! Pitooey 01-03-2002, 12:11 AM I like the one where Louie tells Alex that he asked Alex's ex wife out. Alex gets so mad he runs to his ex wifes hotel room to tell her not to go out with Louie. Louie knocks on the door and Alex hides in the bathroom. Then Louie immediatly jumps in bed with his slimy, oily body and yellow t-shirt and the lady freaks out! (Woody Allen's ex wife Louise Lasser played this role.... Louise Lasser also starred in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.) :happyface :rotflmao:  JPEVEY 01-29-2002, 03:56 AM Notice how many of the good episodes had Jim in them? They hit all my favorites but the two part one where Ladka is unfaithfull and Simka has to do it with a co-worker is priceless. The scene with the marriage counciling session being observed by two ladies waiting for a bus was insane, as was the party to see who has sex with Simka- " you mean the way we elect our president?". I've waited years unsucessfully to use the line "peel me like a grape so I can get out of here". The episode where Louie goes back home to his mom, using his real mother to play the part instead of the worn out habit of having the actor dress in drag and play the mother was another of my favs. mamamiasweetpeaches 02-01-2002, 08:13 PM MEL IS RIGHT!!!!! The gay bar one is my ABSULUTE FAVORITE. Aside from that my favorite bit is Jim taking the drivers test. Another classic. I like Alex's blind date with the big girl a lot too. And for a touching sad one,the one where Alex has his old childhood dog thats dying with him.OhmyGod. I CRYED!!!Its a favorite that I cant watch every timeI'm aware its on because I know I'll cry my a** off!!!!!! Brian Damage 09-13-2002, 01:37 PM "Latka's cookies" is another classic episode. When Alex discovers that there is Cocaine in Latka's homemade cookies and the gang does crazy things after eating them. Bobby starts doing ballet, Alex laughs uncontrollably, Tony has inhuman strength and Elaine finds Louie to be sexy. Even Jim snorts the cookie crumbs! veggie-tari-jenn 01-25-2015, 03:55 AM My favorite show is when Bobby gets a job on a soap opera and tells off Louie, who knows he'll fail and come crawling back. Then Bobby gets fired and has to crawl back to Louie. The scene where Alex tries to persuade Louie not to humiliate Bobby is classic. this one and the drivers test is my fave:) AMackII 05-06-2018, 10:47 AM The Road Not Taken where the cabbies open up the decisions the change their lives |
