View Full Version : Moonlighting Quote Game - The Return!
Dutchie 11-22-2005, 12:28 PM Since they had a big clean-up at BW.com, Gem and I decided to bring the Quote Game to this place :)
I heard Gem was the one who had to come up with the next quote.
But we can also start all over again ;) :p
So here is the first quote:
"Then without further delay, I say, fire away!"
ryangie97 11-22-2005, 01:31 PM I don't recognize this quote but just wanted to say I'm glad to have the quote game back:) pheww;)
gypsygem81 11-22-2005, 01:53 PM Yay!!! Well done Steph!!
Erm....I don't know it either! Great start!
It rhymes - is it an Agnes line?
Love Gem
Dutchie 11-22-2005, 02:27 PM thanks :)
and nope, no Agnes line :p
bluevelvet 11-22-2005, 03:34 PM Nope, I don't know the quote either but I wanted to add my thanks to you, Steph. This was the first page I would go to, even though I never participated, and one that I really enjoyed reading. So thanks for keeping it going! :D
Dutchie 11-22-2005, 03:48 PM no problem :) this was the ONLY place I was still going to....
What a shame about the other board . Oh well thank god for this one...
My guess is Maddie's Turn TO Cry when they are in the milktruck and David says this line to her. Just a guess.
I'm glad to see the game back too! As for the quote, I think it's from Atomic Shakespeare, said by Petruchio to Lucentio (David to Bert).
Dutchie 11-22-2005, 05:13 PM CyBr is right! It is Atomic Shakespeare :D
You're up!
gypsygem81 11-22-2005, 05:28 PM Well done CyBr! I should have got that one, we were only talking about that episode last night!! Nice one Steph.
Love Gem
Dutchie 11-22-2005, 06:19 PM :p you should have known Gem :p I forgive ya ;)
Next one:
"You and the blonde at each other's psyches again?"
kismet 11-23-2005, 09:15 AM The ML quote game was the only reason I visited BW's site on a daily basis. In the past few months, I found his site somewhat tedious. Lots of the stuff posted was a "KingB, you're the greatest actor, father, sportsman, humanitarian, friend..." kind of stuff. It seemed to become a desperate way to grab attention from a big movie star - a little sad for some of the peeps IMO. Of course, if he responded to one of my posts, I WOULD be thrilled so I can't be too harsh. I will miss the games, and some of the jokes.
Ok i know it's Ritchie talking to David in either Maddie Hayes Got Married or Those LIps Those Lies. Not sure which one. Maybe someone else can narrow it down now.
You're right! It's one of those two, so you have a 50-50 chance! Anyone want to take a guess which?
gypsygem81 11-24-2005, 01:31 PM ok, I'll take a guess and say Maddie Hayes Got Married, but I really don't know. Rose should go next anyway.
Love Gem
OK I am not Rose but its rare I know the answer so here goes ;) - Its those Lips those Lies
JenniferH 11-25-2005, 12:48 AM Sorta OT, but what happened at BW.com that the quote game went away?
gypsygem81 11-25-2005, 03:32 AM They got rid of the whole chat section :( There's a bit on the homepage which tells you a bit more about it.
Love Gem
Well Tamm you got it right so you want to you can go next if not let me know......
Sorry! Not Maddie Hayes Got Married. (Try the other one you guessed. ;) ) You guys decide who goes next.
gypsygem81 11-26-2005, 06:48 PM ok, who's got one for us then? Rose? Tamm? Anyone?
Love Gem
Anyone feel free to jump in with a quote. I can't think of one right now. My boys and hubby are sick here so going crazy......
Someone jump in please. I haven't watched any Moonlighting for weeks and my mind is blank
kismet 11-28-2005, 12:16 AM Someone jump in please. I haven't watched any Moonlighting for weeks and my mind is blank
"Tall, blonde, icy, walks bowlegged but you don't mind."
gypsygem81 11-28-2005, 01:34 PM Nice one Kis, for getting this back on track. I can't think where this is from off the top of my head, but I'm thinking season 5??
Love Gem
kismet 11-28-2005, 02:05 PM Season 4.
Dutchie 11-28-2005, 02:29 PM oooh, ehm...come back little shiska? (I don't know if I wrote that right, I also have no idea what it means :P )
kismet 11-28-2005, 02:43 PM YUP.
I think a shiksa is a Jewish/Yiddish term for a blonde, blue-eyed woman.
gypsygem81 11-28-2005, 05:08 PM Nice. Isn't it also a film reference?
Love Gem
neon000 11-28-2005, 06:32 PM Yes, to "Come Back, Little Sheba," (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044509/plotsummary) based on the play by William Inge.
There were a couple of other versions (http://www.imdb.com/find?q=Come%20Back%20Little%20Sheba;s=tt) of it as well.
Dutchie 11-29-2005, 05:56 PM hmm thanks :D
okay new one...hmmmmmm....
"You're doing me!"
ryangie97 11-29-2005, 08:21 PM hahah, is this Davids line from Yours Very Deadly when Maddie goes into David's office, sits on his desk and starts talking like him? very cute scene but not positive about the ep.
Dutchie 11-30-2005, 04:00 AM Yes you're right :D
ryangie97 11-30-2005, 01:44 PM next:
"you are so beautiful when you get fiscal"
dlemond 11-30-2005, 01:52 PM next:
"you are so beautiful when you get fiscal"
"Portrait of Maddie"
I just watched the 4th dvd of the set a little over a week ago.
ryangie97 11-30-2005, 04:15 PM Correct dlemond:D
your turn
gypsygem81 12-05-2005, 03:54 AM Thought I'd start this back up with a new quote:
'You stand terrific'
Love Gem
ryangie97 12-13-2005, 05:50 PM okay I think I need a hint on this one. I'm pretty sure it's a David line but I cant remember the ep. Season 2?
Dutchie 12-13-2005, 06:35 PM I can't even remember this one!
But my DVDs are on it's way! YAY! :D
gypsygem81 12-14-2005, 03:40 AM OMG, I had forgotten all about posting this. Do you know, I've forgotten where it's from?! I'm sure it's season 2 because that's the only thing I've watched recently. I'll have a think about it in work today.
Love Gem
Dutchie 12-14-2005, 04:36 AM lol! Houston we have a problem! Gem doesn't know where it's from anymore
teeheehee :p
gypsygem81 12-19-2005, 10:29 AM oooh ok, I remember where it's from!!
You're right - it's season 3, right towards the end. Here's another quote from the same episode:
'She wants to be you when she grows up'
Love Gem
kismet 12-19-2005, 12:00 PM I thought it might be from "Camille", but that's season 2. I dunno.
gypsygem81 12-19-2005, 04:07 PM I thought it might be from "Camille", but that's season 2. I dunno.
I'm sorry!!! I meant season 2! That must have been the worst clue ever!
You're right Kis - it's Camille. Wow, I really made a meal of that one! Please Kis, take your turn!
Better lay off the mulled wine. Too much blood in my alcohol system.
Love Gem
kismet 12-20-2005, 03:59 PM "GIVE ME THAT WATCH!"
Speaking of watches, BW hasn't been wearing his - at least not since his appearance on David Letterman.
dreams200377 12-20-2005, 04:48 PM Maddie to David in the Pilot?
kismet 12-20-2005, 08:54 PM Your turn.
The line was said by Maddie to David in his office after David steals the watch from Maddie while dancing in the bar.
dreams200377 12-21-2005, 06:05 PM alrighty, here's another...
"...Jack Frost nippin' at your mood?"
kismet 12-22-2005, 11:25 AM hmmmmm...
I can picture David saying that line to Maddie -- I think in her office.
Blonde on Blonde?
dreams200377 12-22-2005, 05:08 PM Hi Kismet,
Close...it is a line from David in Maddie's office and from season 3, but it's not Blonde on Blonde.
neon000 12-26-2005, 01:07 PM Is it, "It's a Wonderful Job"?
:D
dreams200377 12-26-2005, 02:40 PM Yep! It's the scene right after Maddie has words w/ the employees. David enters her office and says, "It's a little cold in here. Jack Frost nippin' at your mood?" (I think that's the quote)
Way to go, Neon. Now, it's your turn :)
neon000 12-26-2005, 05:21 PM 'Kay, here goes. ;)
"You're hard not to like."
dreams200377 12-26-2005, 08:20 PM Hmm, it sounds like a Sam line to David. Could it be, "I am Curious Maddie?"
neon000 12-26-2005, 08:58 PM Yeah. "See, I like you, David. You're hard not to like..."
From that speech where Crawford, uh, just drops in to say hi. ;) :o
dreams200377 12-28-2005, 08:53 AM :)
Okay, let's try this one...
"I was just thinking...miracle of miracles, you might be right."
ryangie97 12-28-2005, 06:49 PM This one has me stumped. I can hear Maddie saying "miracle of miracles" and I think she interupts David with this line. Can't remember the ep. though. Is that right?
dreams200377 12-28-2005, 07:01 PM Hi Ryangie,
You've got the Maddie part right!! Gee, how could you tell? ;)
I'll give you a little hint... it's from Season 3.
Wow, I gave up a lot of info.
That's Maddie telling David he was right about spontaneity in "The Man Who Cried Wife." (The last scene as they walk into the office before they both daydream about kissing the other!)
dreams200377 12-29-2005, 08:19 AM Hey CyBr,
Way to go! That's the one:cool: Yay for season 3!!!!!
Now you go :)
Ok, here's one.
"You're just as confused about us as I am."
dreams200377 12-30-2005, 07:59 AM I'm gonna say Maddie to David in "The Color of Maddie."
For some reason as I was typing that, I kept thinking Col. Mustard in the library... LOL I'm in a strange mood this morning.
You got it! You're up, Dreams.
dreams200377 12-31-2005, 08:04 AM alrighty...
"Not just sandwiches either. Hot food."
ryangie97 12-31-2005, 03:23 PM I think this is an Agnes line from Next Stop Murder. At then end, talking to Maddie. Right?
dreams200377 01-01-2006, 12:44 PM You're right, Ryangie! Now it's your turn.
Happy New Year everyone!!:happyface
ryangie97 01-01-2006, 03:29 PM Next:
"This is so much easier with you around."
dreams200377 01-02-2006, 11:15 AM Hmm, is it David to Maddie in Witness?
LOL, then I think he says, "I bet you'd cut my food up nice too."
ryangie97 01-02-2006, 03:51 PM Correct dreams:D
Your turn.
dreams200377 01-03-2006, 04:33 PM here you go...
"I think I'm insulted."
gypsygem81 01-03-2006, 06:19 PM This is from the Pilot, right? When he takes her back to the office and she says 'I'm suprised you didn't try to take me back to your place'. Got to love that cheeky grin!
Happy New Year everyone!!
Love Gem
dreams200377 01-04-2006, 08:18 AM Happy New Year!
You got it, Gem. You're up.
gypsygem81 01-05-2006, 04:12 PM An easy one:
"As usual the depth of your sensitivity is staggering"
Love Gem
Is this Maddie to David in her office in A Trip To The Moon? His line before is "So don't do it".
Ohh i need to change my answer. It's from To Heiress Human right?
gypsygem81 01-06-2006, 06:26 PM That's the one! You go Rose.
Love Gem
Ok here goes the next quote:
How can you sleep at a time like this?
dreams200377 01-09-2006, 04:51 PM Hmm, I'm gonna take a guess here. It's definitely a David line to Maddie. I'm gonna say, "In God We Strongly Suspect."
Sorry, Try again. Here 's a hint: It's a MAddie line to David.
dreams200377 01-09-2006, 10:22 PM Thanks, Ro.
Duh, I meant to write it was a Maddie line to David. I think I'm in need of some sleep myself :) Hmm, now which episode is it from? I've got to think about this one.
ryangie97 01-10-2006, 12:26 PM Is this from Funeral for a Doornail, when they're in Maddie's office after the explosion in the garage?
Nope. Here's another hint: It's from season 5
kismet 01-10-2006, 01:56 PM The only sleeping scene I can think of in season 5 is the tumbleweed scene in Between A Yuk And A Hard Place. Maybe?
Dutchie 01-10-2006, 03:01 PM Weird, that quote sounds so familiar (<--ok that's a hard word)...hmmm maybe because Maddie once asked David "How do you sleep at night?" And David came with such a great remark :D Yeah that's why I recognise it! LOL
No to you both . Yeah i picked a hard quote for you all! Anyone else?
gypsygem81 01-10-2006, 03:43 PM ooof, season 5. That is a tough one.
Does she say it in a car scene after they've been at the police station for a long time in the middle of the night? I See England??
Love Gem
Dutchie 01-10-2006, 04:16 PM oh mine was not a guess ;)
tho I can hear Maddie say it in an angry way, donno why hmmm
dreams200377 01-10-2006, 04:37 PM Wow, this is a hard one. Is it from a watchable season 5 episode? hehe
Well Gem you are right with the episode but wrong scene, They are buried in the grave yard and David fell asleep and Maddie says this to him to wake him up. So you can go if you want. That was fun cause it was a tough one.
Dutchie 01-10-2006, 05:34 PM Ah I knew I heard her say it in an angry way, I even know the tone she used. I love that scene, esspecially when she tries to scare the dog away LOL
gypsygem81 01-11-2006, 04:21 PM ok, here's one:
'I'll give you a break so tough it'll make a grown man cry'
Love Gem
neon000 01-11-2006, 08:05 PM Okay, I'll take a shot, and probably be wrong, but here goes--
M. to D., "Symphony in Knocked Flat"?
:lookaroun  :quest:
gypsygem81 01-12-2006, 03:25 AM nope!
Love Gem
Dutchie 01-12-2006, 03:38 AM O M G
I don't know what it is, but I do recognise the quotes but can't name the episode anymore! :eek3:
ryangie97 01-12-2006, 09:25 AM Wow I don't remember this one at all.
KissMyGrits 01-12-2006, 09:41 AM Was it from "The Color of Maddie" At the end when they are playing pool? That is the only one I can think of....
kismet 01-12-2006, 10:41 AM Was it from "The Color of Maddie" At the end when they are playing pool? That is the only one I can think of....
I can definitely hear David saying that line to Maddie in the pool hall scene (not the final pool scene) in The Color of Maddie.
gypsygem81 01-12-2006, 12:33 PM I can definitely hear David saying that line to Maddie in the pool hall scene (not the final pool scene) in The Color of Maddie.
That's right! It was the Colour of Maddie and in the first pool scene. Nice one Kis and BlueMoonFan. I guess one of you two should go next - which ever one of you is first?
Love Gem
KissMyGrits 01-12-2006, 08:17 PM Okay, I got one....
David: You wanna hear something terrible. Maddie: You aren't going to sing are you?
Michelle
I think that's from "Knowing Her". David claims that when he saw Jillian in Maddie's office, he almost forgot her name. Maddie wasn't buying it!
KissMyGrits 01-14-2006, 08:20 AM You got it!! I love the episode! I watch it so much that my husband and son know it by heart!! LOL!!
Your turn!!
Michelle
Here's one.
"That's all we ever do!"
dreams200377 01-14-2006, 05:05 PM ooh, I'm gonna take a guess. It sounds like Maddie to David in an "after" episode. Maybe "A Trip to the Moon?"
You got it! It's as the camera turns to the rumpled sheets on the bed. David gives her a look as if to say, "Yeah, and the problem is..."
Too easy, I guess! You're turn, Dreams.
dreams200377 01-15-2006, 05:08 PM Okey Dokey...
"I think it's almost frightening how much we have in common."
Is it from Gunfight At The SoSo Corral? The garage scene,David says this to MAddie?
kismet 01-16-2006, 12:29 AM Is it from Gunfight At The SoSo Corral? The garage scene,David says this to MAddie?
It sounds like a great answer to me.
Meatballs on spaghetti and SEX. Who could ask for more!;)
KissMyGrits 01-16-2006, 09:13 AM It sounds like a great answer to me.
Meatballs on spaghetti and SEX. Who could ask for more!;)
ROTFLMAO!! Too funny!!
dreams200377 01-16-2006, 11:22 AM You got it, Ro! You're up :)
very cute scene :)
Ok here goes the next quote:
"Why didn't Donny marry Marie? Who knows."
KissMyGrits 01-17-2006, 10:26 PM Ok here goes the next quote:
"Why didn't Donny marry Marie? Who knows."
That's from one of my favorite episodes. Murder's in the mail.. Where David is trying to convince Maddie into doing bill collecting...
Michelle
Wow Michelle, You are good! Guess that was too easy huh? Most quotes from early seasons are easy for us fans. You are up!
KissMyGrits 01-17-2006, 11:12 PM Yeah, the early episode quotes are easy for me!! LOL!! Here is mine:
"The mall has it all!!"
Michelle
neon000 01-18-2006, 12:54 AM Richard, in "Brother, Can You Spare a Blonde?"
KissMyGrits 01-18-2006, 06:51 AM Yep!! I knew that was too easy!! I just love that quote though!! Whenever my friend calls to ask if I want to go to the mall I say "The mall has it all!! LOL!!
Your turn neon!!
Michelle
neon000 01-18-2006, 11:42 AM Okay, then:
"That's better than 'gay'!"
;)
Ok this is Agnes line to Maddie in Big Man ON Mulberry Street in her office in regards to David being married before right?
My hubby loves this secne .He thinks it's funny.
Yeah a Season 3 episode quote!
laura a 01-18-2006, 12:39 PM Try and guess this one "we`ve reach the climax" "at the same time""do you want a cigarette now" its probably too easy ,ive given too much info
neon000 01-18-2006, 05:05 PM Ok this is Agnes line to Maddie in Big Man ON Mulberry Street in her office in regards to David being married before right?
Yes :D
dreams200377 01-18-2006, 06:45 PM Try and guess this one "we`ve reach the climax" "at the same time""do you want a cigarette now" its probably too easy ,ive given too much info
Bride of Tupperman. I love that part!!! :)
laura a 01-18-2006, 07:37 PM Iknew it was too easy! Try this on for size.
here comes the quote "Well it is more blessed to give than to receive and since i am the blessed one around here". Heres a big clue you`ve gotta love what comes after this.
kismet 01-18-2006, 08:42 PM Laura, is your quote from season 5?
dreams200377 01-19-2006, 08:55 AM Hi Kismet,
Yes, I believe it is from season 5... "Take My Wife, for Example"
ooh, and you're right, Laura. I do love what's next ;)
laura a 01-19-2006, 07:47 PM Im really enjoying this game now ,and the reason i picked that quote was because it sticks in my mind and one of the few clips from season 5 that i watch over and over again i just love the sensual way that they kiss (open mouth) and the way she lies him back on the desk MAGIC
Who ever said that the chemistry had gone in season 5 couldnt have watched it, even at its lowest point and with Glenn gone it shone through !
dreams200377 01-21-2006, 05:05 PM Hi Laura,
I'm enjoying this thread a great deal too. I agree, as bad as season 5 could be, there were moments that still sparkled. The one from "Take My Wife, for Example" being one of them.
Hmm, time for another quote me thinks ;) Try this :
"For you to be a success, the laws of nature would have to be repealed."
laura a 01-22-2006, 04:53 AM Hi Laura,

Hi, Is this one from Sleep Talking Guy! I just love at the begining with the "happy anniversary" scene it just ooozzes sexual chemistry!!
dreams200377 01-22-2006, 10:53 AM Nope, not Sleep Talkin' Guy. But, it is from season 2.
So true, the "happy anniversary" opening is amazing. They are perfect together :)
laura a 01-22-2006, 01:18 PM Nope, not Sleep Talkin' Guy. But, it is from season 2.
So true, the "happy anniversary" opening is amazing. They are perfect together :)
Right ok then ,my second choice is Atlas Beltched. I can see the scene and Maddie saying the line in my head but im not 100% certain on the episode though
dreams200377 01-22-2006, 06:10 PM Hi Laura,
It's a little bit earlier than Atlas Belched. Think of a real fan favorite from season 2. Oh, and it's a David line. But to who/whom? The plot "thinnens..." ;)
gypsygem81 01-22-2006, 06:13 PM Wow, I really thought it was a Maddie line too! Ok, is it from Brother Can you Spare a Blonde? I can really only imagine David saying it to Ritchie.
Love Gem
kismet 01-22-2006, 08:44 PM I agree with Gem. I think it's a David to Richie line.
laura a 01-23-2006, 07:31 AM I remember now ,wasnt it the resturant scene where Maddie and David meet him for dinner, when he says it
dreams200377 01-23-2006, 08:02 AM Wow, I really thought it was a Maddie line too! Ok, is it from Brother Can you Spare a Blonde? I can really only imagine David saying it to Ritchie.
Love Gem
Hi Gem,
You're right, it is David to Ritchie in Brother, Can you Spare a Blonde?
DOH, now I don't remember what scene it's from. I thought it was said at Maddie's house. But actually, I think Laura's right. I think it was the restaurant. Sorry guys. :o Hmm, now it's bugging me. I'll have to check later.
You're turn :)
~Kara
laura a 01-23-2006, 04:02 PM This is from on of the later episodes "i always said you made quite an impression" Happy guessing?
dreams200377 01-23-2006, 04:20 PM I think it's from The Color of Maddie, when she falls into the wet cement.
laura a 01-23-2006, 04:34 PM Your absolutely right!Just love that pool hall scene at the begining "yer slide the stick in and out ,in and out "Its just full of innuendos
dreams200377 01-23-2006, 08:34 PM Yes, it is :) Lots of nice Maddie and David moments.
Okay, try this...
"It can't be oedipal, I'm a girl."
"Okay. oedipi." LOL
laura a 01-24-2006, 05:59 AM Yes, it is :) Lots of nice Maddie and David moments.
Okay, try this...
"It can't be oedipal, I'm a girl."
"Okay. oedipi." LOL
I know this one ,isn`t it from Every Daughters Father is A Virgin . I think its the scene where Maddie says that she is going to follow her father and David says "you cant do that......"
dreams200377 01-24-2006, 07:59 AM That's the one. This is fun :)
Your turn.
dreams200377 02-02-2006, 06:16 PM Okay, so it's been awhile.
How about an easy one as we get ready for Tuesday...
"You're not a person, you're a poster."
Dutchie 02-02-2006, 06:41 PM I'm Curious!!! David to Maddie. The big fight! And the huge make up (out).
another easy one:
Hey lady, wanna lick my mail?
neon000 02-02-2006, 07:10 PM David to Maddie, as she walks up to the post office in "Yours, Very Deadly."
:D
laura a 02-03-2006, 05:33 PM Sorry i havn`t submitted a quote recently im a bit distracted what with it being only 3 DAYS TO GO!! Anyway i thought i would pick one from a season 3 episode as sort of a homage to it . Right ready here goes....."yeah right whats good for the goose is forbidden for the gander"
neon000 02-03-2006, 05:38 PM Excuse me, I believe I just got it right, therefore it'd be my go. The person who originally posted the previous quote has to say so, but I'm pretty sure it's true.
By the way, the "new" one is from "Blonde on Blonde," before Maddie storms out the door. She's pissed at David because he doesn't mind it when the guys are footloose and fancy free, but somehow Maddie shouldn't be allowed to...
So now do I get to go twice?
:(

Im really sorry i didnt realize it was your go and yeah have two goes i didnt mean to tread on anybodies toes.I look forward to guessing your ones.PS your right by the way it was from Blonde On Blonde( just love those silhouette scenes)
dihop 02-03-2006, 08:52 PM Hey kids....let's remember this is a game, OK?
With so many people in so many time zones, it could be hours before the next post. If somebody verifies the correctness of the response, what is the harm in going on to the next quote?
Play nice.
neon000 02-04-2006, 08:44 AM The line is:
"Rat bastard."
kismet 02-04-2006, 11:14 AM "Rat bastard" was said by David to Sam in David's bedroom. Sam & Dave?
neon000 02-04-2006, 05:29 PM Yep, that's it. Right toward the end of "Sam and Dave." Sam drags David into the room and sets him down, then turns to go. Dave says "Luke, you're all right," (Star Wars, ha ha), and Sam, maybe a little surprised, grins a bit. The pretense disappears almost immediately, as David's real feelings return to the fore and he mutters the next line in utter fury. :o :(
Batter up! :D
kismet 02-05-2006, 11:56 AM How about a funny one:
"I was there. I saw me do it."
laura a 02-05-2006, 01:09 PM I know this one , isn`t it from the the Pilot when she saying to David that she gave the watch to the police and David says that she didn`t and she says.......
kismet 02-05-2006, 05:13 PM Yup. Your turn.
laura a 02-05-2006, 08:47 PM Great , now let me think....... Ahh heres a good one ,ive always wondered how this got past the censors heres the line-" you`d look great in a pearl necklace" Anyone over a certain age should know what was meant by `pearl necklace` nod! nod! wink! wink!
Is it from The Man Who Cried Wife? David says this to Maddie in the mall. I finally got the end on tape. I was missing the kiss. Was the kiss hot or what? :) I guess i may not be of age also cause i don't know the other meaning you mentioned LOL
neon000 02-05-2006, 10:23 PM I believe it's in "Take My Wife, For Example."
Duh that's what i meant LOL I'm not thinking straight .Well you know where my mind has been tonight LOL
laura a 02-06-2006, 05:23 AM Yeah your absolutley right It was from Take My Wife Example. And in regards to the other meaning of `pearl necklace` someone out there other than me must know it ,i would post it on the board but it`s way to naughty to get away with it . But if anyone ask personally i might be persuadeded to post it via a private messageand then you can all pass it round or you can look up the meaning on the internet
1 MORE DAY, TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!
laura a 02-06-2006, 05:40 AM www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pearl+necklace&page=3 Oh ok you talked me into it ,i wont tell you but here`s a link that will reveal all .Hope your`e not too shocked! Its definition 21 that i`m referring to by the way ,but the others are right too. There isnt` just that site ,there are loads > go on to google and type in `other meanings for pearl neklace`
kismet 02-06-2006, 09:43 AM I never knew there was any other meaning to "a pearl necklace" other than a pearl necklace as in a piece of jewelry.
Wasn't it Cybill's grandmother who also said that a pearl necklace makes you woman-like?
Cybill occasionally wears a pearl necklace, even though she generally wears very little jewelry except her watch.
kismet 02-06-2006, 09:45 AM hmmmmmmm "a pearl necklace" means that - well, I have learned something new today.
neon000 02-06-2006, 01:10 PM Next line:
"What were you doing under there?"
Dutchie 02-06-2006, 01:11 PM oooh interresting lol
so what about pearl earrings? anything I should know about those?
kismet 02-06-2006, 01:22 PM Next line:
"What were you doing under there?"
Is that line followed by "If you have to ask, I must not be doing it correctly" or something to that effecct?
neon000 02-06-2006, 01:40 PM No.
Dutchie 02-06-2006, 01:45 PM Maddie to Bert when he is hiding under her desk, hiding from Agnes in.............damn what was the episode called again!
brb, have to look it up
Dutchie 02-06-2006, 01:48 PM GOT IT! I think it's Yours Very Deadly.
neon000 02-06-2006, 02:00 PM Yes, that'd be it.
(His response: "Fiscal '85.")
Go ahead.
Dutchie 02-06-2006, 02:26 PM And the rest, as they say, is kismet.
(okay, might be said in teeny tiny other way)
kismet 02-06-2006, 02:53 PM That line is said by David to Maddie in Maddie's home in I Am Curious Maddie. Where do you think my name comes from?
When he says that line, he is so appealing. How could she resist him? Well, she didn't, did she?
Dutchie 02-06-2006, 03:04 PM LOL, I'm always thinking of you when he says that line
kismet 02-06-2006, 03:12 PM "Red snapper. An acquired taste."
I'm going to take a guess here. Is it "Plastic Fantastic Lovers" while they're watching a tape in David's office?
kismet 02-06-2006, 07:58 PM CyBr's turn.
I wasn't sure about that at all! (And I admit I don't get the line, but I'm afraid to ask someone if there's a joke I'm missing.)
Next one:
"I miss her too."
kismet 02-06-2006, 11:11 PM "Red snapper. An acquired taste."
With the way he said it and the look on BW's face, I always took it to mean a form a sex, if you catch my drift.
kismet 02-06-2006, 11:12 PM I wasn't sure about that at all! (And I admit I don't get the line, but I'm afraid to ask someone if there's a joke I'm missing.)
Next one:
"I miss her too."
Was this line said by Agnes to David in David's office in "Money Talks, Maddie Walks"?
Very good, Kismet! :happyface I was thinking I might fool you into thinking it was a Chicago episode. You're turn.
kismet 02-07-2006, 10:22 AM "For future reference, I really like this."
neon000 02-07-2006, 12:52 PM David to Maddie, "Symphony in Knocked Flat." They have to go back to her place and look through her stuff. He finds something that is not exactly ticket-related.
kismet 02-07-2006, 01:16 PM correctamundo!
neon000 02-07-2006, 01:30 PM Next:
"I'm going to promise her the moon..."
kismet 02-09-2006, 11:01 AM Next:
"I'm going to promise her the moon..."
Well, you have me stumped. I can't "hear" those words being said.
neon000 02-09-2006, 11:09 AM Keep trying :D
KissMyGrits 02-09-2006, 11:58 AM It sounds like a quote from season 4. It sounds like it could have been said in the episode "Father knows last" David to Maddie's father?
neon000 02-09-2006, 02:44 PM Yes, it's from that monologue. "I go over to her house one night, heart on my sleeve, cards on the table. I'm going to tell her I love her, I want to marry her, I'm going to promise her the moon, and excuse me, there is another man there. That's right, there is another man there."
You're on, BlueMoonFan.
kismet 02-13-2006, 01:18 PM Yo Michelle, It's your turn.
KissMyGrits 02-13-2006, 07:51 PM I know who he is, he paints naked girls.
ryangie97 02-13-2006, 10:04 PM That's David's line from the beginning of Somewhere under the rainbow, when they were discussing art. Right?
KissMyGrits 02-14-2006, 07:37 AM Bingo, you got it!! I love that episode!!
Michelle
ryangie97 02-14-2006, 11:57 AM Next quote:
"Finally someone worth talking to, even though he is never in when I call."
Dutchie 02-14-2006, 12:59 PM The Son also Rises. David A. reply when Maddie says there are phonemessages from him and all for him!
Next: Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!
dihop 02-14-2006, 01:12 PM This one is from "Brother, Can You Spare a Blonde" when Maddie is jumping on the sofa.
NEXT: "Why'd we do that?"
neon000 02-14-2006, 02:07 PM Maddie and David, to each other, commenting on why they'd convinced Agnes not to walk out, in "All Creatures Great and...Not So Great."
dihop 02-14-2006, 02:55 PM There you go.......
Next.....
neon000 02-14-2006, 02:57 PM "Splendid!"
dihop 02-14-2006, 03:35 PM "Splendid", I believe, is David's response to the maitre'd who gives him a jacket in Sam and Dave.
Right?
neon000 02-14-2006, 03:37 PM Uh-huh.
Batter up!
dihop 02-14-2006, 03:42 PM How about.....
"DiPesto's been answering the phone in prose!"
neon000 02-14-2006, 03:45 PM It's Dave, is it "'Twas the Episode Before Christmas"?
It is Dave, but I think it's from "Portrait of Maddie" when they are worried about where Maddie has been when she comes in the office.
dihop 02-14-2006, 04:07 PM You've got it CyBr.......your turn
How about this:
"Wanna hear something dumb?"
dihop 02-14-2006, 05:34 PM Maddie's Turn to Cry.....
Maddie to David after the bowling alley chase.
dihop 02-14-2006, 07:55 PM I'm pretty sure I am right, and I am off on a mini-holiday, so I am going to post the next quote.
"We're some pair."
kismet 02-15-2006, 12:25 PM I'm pretty sure I am right, and I am off on a mini-holiday, so I am going to post the next quote.
"We're some pair."
I'm going to take a guess:
Atlas Belched?
laura a 02-16-2006, 04:30 PM Hi kismet "The only thing new under the sun is the truth you don`t know" is that the new quote because i`m not sure if it is , i dont recognize it but if it is i`ll have a guess.
kismet 02-16-2006, 05:02 PM "We're some pair" is the latest Moonlighting quote. My guess was Atlas Belched.
The other quote that you referred to is from Mr. Willis.
If I remember right, the line in Atlas Belched is "We're quite a pair." But that's pretty close, so I think you got it, Kismet! :) Why don't you go next until we hear otherwise?
kismet 02-17-2006, 11:42 AM Okeedokee.
"...baby kisses down your spine.
...angel kisses on your belly."
Love it, love it, love it.
Sue the newbie here. That's David to Maddie in To Heiress Human if I recall...
kismet 02-17-2006, 12:52 PM Sue's turn.
Cool. Ok, hope I'm not making this too easy.
David: I told you it wasn't my fault! The freeway was jammed. There was a big accident.
Maddie: What, a gin truck overturn?
kismet 02-17-2006, 01:45 PM Isn't that from the terrific after breakfast scene in Big Man?
Ah, you're just showing off. Go for it, Kismet.
kismet 02-17-2006, 03:54 PM This may be a little off:
"We're the Skipsquats."
Besides by Bruce on the DVD ;) , David said it in "I See England, I See France... " when they pretended to be a couple looking at the dead guy's place. Seems like it was used another time too, but I could be wrong.
gypsygem81 02-17-2006, 04:39 PM I think you're right CyBr, I think they do use it twice - doesn't he also say it in Between Yuk and a Hard Place when they visit the man with all the birds?! Or was that the high school reunion comittee? I'm not sure, I'm not very good with season 5.
Love Gem
Gem, You are right. It is used in both episodes in season 5. I love the bloopers of that scene when he says that. Too funny. I can watch most of season 5 except for the last few episodes. Hmm wonder why is that?
I think you may be right, Gem. Was it in one of the outtakes of "Yuk" that ran after "Shirts and Skins"?
*I think we posted at the same time, Rose!
gypsygem81 02-17-2006, 05:19 PM Yeah, it's the outtakes that made me think of that scene, but thinking back on it, didn't they tell him that they were from the high school reunion comittee and that's why they were looking for his sister? Or am I thinking of another episode? The more I think about it, the more confused I'm getting myself! I might just have to go and watch it again. I could watch that one for the elevator scene anyway.
Tell us the answer Kis!
Love Gem
Gem,
You are right again he does say they are from the high school reunion committee. You are not going crazy.
kismet 02-17-2006, 06:39 PM David says it to the Birdman.
He also says it to the older woman at the apartment. Her answer is something like "nice to meet you, Skip". That line always makes me smile.
Too many answers, too many friends.
Now you can all fight over who was correct.
Someone hit us with a good one.
OK, how about this one?
"You underestimate yourself."
kismet 02-17-2006, 10:46 PM OK, how about this one?
"You underestimate yourself."
David to Maddie in...which one?
A Trip To The Moon?
Right again, Kismet. From the laundromat scene. You're up!
kismet 02-18-2006, 10:32 PM "This is cute of all of us."
ryangie97 02-18-2006, 11:50 PM I think that's Maddie from Next Stop Murder talking about the picture Agnes sent in for the contest. Right?
ryangie97 02-20-2006, 07:53 PM I'm pretty sure that's right so I'll keep the game going if that's ok.
"I love it when you play rough.":D
laura a 02-20-2006, 08:00 PM I'm pretty sure that's right so I'll keep the game going if that's ok.
"I love it when you play rough.":D
Isn`t this one from Maddies Turn To Cry , its from when David and Maddie are about to chase after that guy and his mistress (can`t remember their names) and Maddie pulls David by his jacket and says "come on" and David says "i love it when you play rough"
Am i right?
ryangie97 02-20-2006, 08:56 PM That's it:D You're up Laura.
laura a 02-21-2006, 05:38 AM Now let me think..... Here`s the quote -"how could you break in to my! office"
i`ll give you a clue ,it`s a David line. Happy guessing!
dreams200377 02-21-2006, 07:19 AM Hi Laura,
Is it shirts and Skins?
laura a 02-22-2006, 04:25 AM Correct! Well done Your right ,it`s from the scene just after David catches Maddie breaking into his office.I also love another quote from that scene ,it`s when Maddie says to David "this-this is beneath you " and David replies "the only thing beneath me is you and this is the one time i don`t like it!" Either i make them too easy or everyone is just so hot on their moonlighting dialogue .I think that it means it`s your turn now,so without delay please fire away!
dreams200377 02-22-2006, 08:24 AM Nice one Ms. Dipesto ;)
Okay, here's one:
"Now, who says blondes are dumb? Of course I'm gonna hang on."
kismet 02-22-2006, 09:59 AM "Now, who says blondes are dumb? Of course I'm gonna hang on."
Isn't that line said by David to Maddie as David is hanging off the hot-air balloon in Yuk?
I'm pretty sure you're right, Kismet. I can picture David saying it as he's hanging off the hot air balloon!
dreams200377 02-22-2006, 07:09 PM Right you are :) Your turn, Kismet.
btw, I also like when David says, "good for you." That's after Maddie screams, "I'm coming David." LOL
laura a 02-23-2006, 04:26 AM Yeah!i like that quote too ,Kinda naughty don`t yer think!!:D ;)
kismet 02-23-2006, 11:03 AM Maybe slightly paraphrased:
"I like your hair. It's nice and short."
",,,about 20,000 hairs short."
dihop 02-23-2006, 11:10 AM That one Is from "The Son Also Rises"....
David Addison Sr. to Jr.
kismet 02-23-2006, 11:13 AM Diane's turn.
dihop 02-23-2006, 11:14 AM Ok...from one of my favorite scenes.....
"No way. She never laid a glove on me."
kismet 02-23-2006, 11:18 AM Grrrrr....
Diane, you know I can't stomach season 4. ;) Someone else can have a go at it.
By the way, did anyone see Regis & Kelly/chat this morning? Moonlighting was mentioned, along with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd.
No Kismet , I missed it. what did Regis and Kelly say? You can PM me if you don't want to put it here.
kismet 02-23-2006, 11:46 AM Ok...from one of my favorite scenes.....
"No way. She never laid a glove on me."
Nothing major, just a mention. In the chat, Gelman and Regis and Kelly talk about how Regis/Kelly should go to Los Angeles, and star in a Moonlighting type show Then Regis (of course) forgets Bruce Willis' name, he remembers, and then they mention Cybill Shepherd. Then, Kelly talks how she and Regis should buy a home together in Los Angeles. Nothing much was said, but it did give a plug to Moonlighting. Maybe ML was on their minds because they had recently seen the new DVDs? Just guessing.
Thanks Kismet! my kids are still asleep at the time they are on so i didn't see
it. It's funny that they mentioned them.
Also i have no clue what episode this latest quote is from. I hate that LOL
kismet 02-23-2006, 12:05 PM The mention did seem a little strange to me also, but I'm just glad they talked about it.
Current quote from Diane:
"No way. She never laid a glove on me."
gypsygem81 02-23-2006, 01:43 PM oooh, I think David says it to Terri? I'll take a guess...Maddie Hayes Got Married?
Love Gem
dihop 02-24-2006, 12:28 AM Sorry guys, had to go to work........
100% correct, Gem........you're up!
