I'm sure this probably has been discussed already. Which Naomi do you prefer? The early version who was more smarter and tougher or the later version that became a total airhead. I liked the earlier version better. Vint didn't seem quite as dumb either in the early episodes.

Yeah, I think this has been discussed before. I like both Naomi's, but I'll go with the earlier version.

I also liked the earlier Naomi, but I always thought the early Vinton was an *******. I mean, when he didn't get his way, he went through the roof, and didn't think of anyone else but himself. On the other hand, the later Vinton was MUCH funnier!!

I also prefer the earlier version of Naomi.

I like the ealier version of naomi better,but sometimes i like the airhead naomi.

Although Naomi was an airhead in the syndicated episodes, I prefer her in those only because I prefer the syndies over the network eppies! They were much funnier!:lol:

:lol: I suppose that after living with Mama for a couple of years one can excuse her and Vint for becoming airheads. That is what had been drummed into them by Mama, right?:crazy:

better, she was much more stronger, but more
ditzier at the same time. She got funnier as the years went

I still love later Naomi, but I gotta go with earlier Naomi. She was feistier, smarter, had some terrifically funny lines, and still had to work harder to defend herself due to her reputation, misconceptions, etc. And I liked how we had several different hairstyles, too.

I prefer earlier Naomi. The later naomi often annoyed the heck out of me.

I think she stood-up to Mama more in the earlier season. I enjoyed both versions, but truly liked her best on all my children as Opal.

I like the later Naomi myself because she's the one I got used to. I started out with the syndicated eps and never saw the networks ones till later. The characters were so different from how I knew them to be that I dislike all but a few of the network eps to this day. The later ones, like the one where Mama learned karate and got her drivers license were good though, because they showed Mama growing as a person.

But overall, I thought the earlier eps played out more like a bad soap opera than a comedy. The show got stronger as it went along. Naomi and Vint are way funnier in the later ones, giving Mama plenty of opportunities to bash them. This is what made the show work for six seasons.

The later version of Naomi was funnier I thought. The early one seemed kind of harsh.
