Florida made this statement at the end of the episode where JJ speaks on Fred Davis' behalf. She looks out to the audience and says the above referenced statement. Now, why is it his fault that she lives in the ghetto? Her husband James voted for him. Her family ended up living there because James helped Mr. Davis and in turn, Mr. Davis got them into the building. I just don't think this is a good statement.

Fred was corrupted, Just like you stated, Fred helped James get his family into the projects, so James felt that he was indebted to Fred so he helped Fred with his campaign. You have to think about all the other families Fred help get into the projects. I believe Fred had a lot of pull in the projects and if you didn't help him you and your family would be out on the street fast quick and in a hurry. So that's what Florida was getting at.

Politicians can do outright crazy things to a city, a county to a country.

I just don't understand why no one would go to the housing authority and speak up abt this man who would throw a family out on the street. Maybe i am being naive, but like nerrad says, did he have that much pull??? Imagine if all the tenants got together and went to the head of the housing authority and told them what was going on?

If you were to go to the housing authority, and Davis found out, which I'm sure he would have, then you and yours would be out on the street. Davis was a dirty man and if he's dirty then everyone he's around is the same way. Davis worked with the city he was Alderman, so he had a lot of pull. So yeah if you didn't do something for him then you could be out on the street. He could lie and say you did something when you didn't. He worked for the city, So who are they going to believe, you or Davis.
