Does anyone recall the episode where a couple was murdered by Lake Ponchartrain? I believe they had been killed in a car by someone who lived nearby but it could never be proven. I was wondering if there had ever been any updates, and/or if anyone remembered that segment. Thanks in advance! :D

Was this in Louisiana? If so, then it was in 1956, and the couple was attacked in a car. The man in the carwas killed, and his lover, Audrey Moat, disappeared, never to be seen again (dead or alive).

Even though Audrey is believed to have been killed along with the man, there was never any real proof that she is dead. A man who lived in the vicinity when the crime took place (and who is now deceased) was thought to have been the killer, but there was too little evidence to prove it.

Anyway, I assume that there have no updates on the case. That is, unless there's someone (especially those living in Lousiana and are familiar enough with the case) who can verify the contrary.

The man who was found dead was Thomas Houtard.

Thanks to both of you for the information. It was right on the money. I was interested because a friend of mine went to help with hurricane relief and while they were there, found some bones of a long dead female near the north shore of the lake. I remembered the episode, but couldn't remember anything else. It was weird...

Thats very interesting GoblinKeeper. Do they think there's a chance it could be Audrey's remains or do they have any idea who could it belong to?

As far as I know, they aren't sure who the remains belong to. He's back home now, so I don't know how to go about finding out any updates, but I'll call around and see if someone can give me some information about it.

Wow, any updates about this? This would be a big break in this case.

EDIT: The retrieval of some bones of an unidentified woman near Lake Ponchartrain is profiled here: http://www.amw.com/features/feature_story_detail.cfm?id=280

However, these bones were thought to only have been there for 17 years, and they also seem to have been recovered in 2003, so I'm not sure this is what GoblinKeeper was talking about.
