Brian Damage 11-13-2005, 02:30 PM Dave Scherer reports the following:
As I am sure you will all understand, the reaction to Eddie Guerrero's sudden passing has blindsided everyone I talked to in WWE this morning. The workers I have spoken to about it are just numb and shocked.
The word I have gotten is that the company has decided to make both the Raw and Smackdown shows at tonight's combined taping in Minneapolis tribute shows to Eddie. The usual format for the shows has been changed to instead incorporate tributes to Eddie.
Sargent Stewie 11-13-2005, 02:42 PM Here are some addition notes on the Eddie Guerrero passing. Facts are still coming in and it's WAY to early to speculate. We'll be updating any information we get this afternoon. This story is obviously going to be picked up by various news outlets so many more details will likely be revealed.
- Eddie arrived in Minneapolis, MN yesterday for tonight's combined TV tapings at the Target Center.
- He was staying at the Marriott City Center hotel in downtown Minneapolis.
- He got an early wake-up call just after 7 a.m. and he didn't answer.
- Chavo Guerrero tried calling the room and also got no answer. The two had been traveling together.
- Several people knocked on his door and the calls went unanswered. Security was then called and they got inside and found Eddie dead on the bathroom floor.
More on this shocking story as we get it.

themaninblack 11-14-2005, 01:11 AM what happened to him?
Brad Russ 11-14-2005, 02:31 AM Wow, this is really sad!! I think this is the saddest Iv'e been over the death of a wrestler since Owen Hart died in 1999. I feel so bad for his three children, they are so young. Raw and Smackdown's tribute shows are sure going to be tough to sit through. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to handle watching. R.I.P. Eddie!! You are already sorely missed!! :(
Chain Gang Member 11-14-2005, 03:51 PM I can't believe it:eek: omg: :faint: :crying: .Last week,he was entertaining us and riding in his Low Rider. All of the sudden,he's dead. We'll miss you ,Eddiehttp://fanlistings.verilon.org/eddie/images/top.jpg
isiahthomas 11-14-2005, 03:58 PM I wonder if he was a drug addict.
Brad Russ 11-14-2005, 04:02 PM I wonder if he was a drug addict.
He was at one time, but he was 4 years sober. He was found dead in his hotel bathroom with a toothbrush in his mouth. Vince Mcmahon and Chavo Guerrero had a press conference about his death. You can see it at www.wwe.com.
isiahthomas 11-14-2005, 04:07 PM Maybe he had a heart attack.
Brad Russ 11-14-2005, 04:12 PM Maybe he had a heart attack.
That's what I'm thinking too. He did have quite a temper, and that, along with all the years he had been on drugs in the past, would make his chances of having one much higher then the average person I'd think. It'll probably take a couple weeks to know for sure what happened though.
Brian Damage 11-14-2005, 05:11 PM Even though he was four years sober, I still find it very suspicious that he just dropped dead. Something about that isn't right.
Julius 11-14-2005, 05:16 PM Even though he was four years sober, I still find it very suspicious that he just dropped dead. Something about that isn't right. I agree with you. I expect huge ratings of Raw and Smackdown this week. Raw is on Tonight at 9 PM EST on USA Network. Smackdown will air Friday Night at 8 PM EST on UPN

One can be sober after having abused drugs/alcohol, etc. but their body is still damaged from the abuse. I pray it wasn't anything drug related, meaning, I hope he hadn't turned to drugs again.
He could have died from something that was related to his years as a drug user. So sad.
Brad Russ 11-14-2005, 07:17 PM Also, remember in the late 90's he had that horrible car accident, where he was thrown 100 feet out of the car, or some freaky distance like that. A person can never be the same after something like that, so that can be a contributor. There are just so many possibilities. I think it's a miracle that he lived as long as he did with all he's been through, in all honesty.
musicradio77 11-14-2005, 07:19 PM That was sad news. Eddie was one of the best wrestlers of the WWE. RIP.:(

My boyfriend was shocked when I told him. He loved Eddie as a wrestler and for showcasing lowriders. When my boyfriend was in his 20's he bought and fixed up cars (lowriders) and won many trophies in car shows. He felt that Eddie was showcasing 'art' when he would bring out a car like that. It is really sad. I don't care for the wrestling and stuff, but my boyfriend did and I knew it would come as a shock when I had to tell him.
rodwayne 11-17-2005, 04:12 PM From what I saw on MSNBC,it was comfrim that he had a very large heart because according to his wife,he work out like crazy,so it was a heart attact;also the hard living that he did for years and years propably did caught up with him.Maybe Chavo[COLOR="sandybrown"]will drop that stupid [COLOR="sandybrown"]Kerin Whitegimmick and go back to being himself.
Ireneparalegal 11-17-2005, 07:06 PM Well, the enlarged heart began with the use of drugs; his heart was then made worse with his rigorous workouts and then of course his wrestling. One's heart becomes enlarged with drug use. Over time, the arteries become thin; on top of already having an enlarged heart, if one doesn't know abt it and does the kind of work he did, it is inevitable that the heart will fail.
Brad Russ 11-18-2005, 01:21 PM I thought Raw's tribute to him on Monday, was extremely touching. Particularly when Benoit spoke about him and their friendship, and started sobbing, and also when they played the tribute video highlighting Guerrero's life and career, to the song "Hurt", by Johnny Cash. Those parts got me very emotional. Since he was a Smackdown wrestler, it'll be interesting to see how the show honours him tonight. I'm guessing it'll be extremely touching. For anyone who didn't get to see the Raw tribute, you can see a bunch of clips at the link below.

angel676 11-18-2005, 11:26 PM When I turned wrestling on Monday night, at first I had no idea who died, but when I found out it was Eddie, I was heart broken. I mean to pass away at such a young age. The whole show was remarkable. I was almost in tears watching Triple H talk about Eddie. Then when it showed Mysterio(sp) talking about Eddie, that's when I broke down in tears. Eddie will be deeply missed!!
Ronn Harmon 11-22-2005, 01:13 AM Even though I am deeply saddened that Eddie is gone, I am glad he did not have to suffer like former WWF Superstar John "Earthquake" Tenta, he found out last week that his stomach cancer has spread to his lungs and doctors found 4 new tumors in his lungs. He is taking chemo again, but doctors state he only has a 10-20% chance that it will be successful. I sure don't want to say it but, I doubt Earthquake will make it to see 2006. Earthquake is only 42.
