I think she has the talent to be the next Whitney (Whitney from the old days). But like someone above me said, I don't want the "crack is wack" Kelly. NOOO way! She'll be better!

Whitney was so much better before she met Bobby, I'm not saying that he messed her up,but when and still is she had done drugs with him,before she was the good girl. I wonder what Whintey's monther thinks of her now?

Oh, I think he did mess her up. I remember thinking when she married him that she had married beneath her. I remember hearing that Eddie Murphy and Robert DeNiro had been interested in her at various points and I think she would have done better to go with someone who had it together.

Most people noticed that as soon as Bobby married Whitney, he pretty much let his career fall by the wayside. Aside from a one-shot reunion album and tour with New Edition (which he bitched about because the money was split six ways equally among the members), he hasn't done squat in terms of albums or tours.

However, I just read somewhere that he is going on his first solo concert tour in well over a decade. Wow, he's actually working!! Guess he's gotta pay off all those lawyers and rehab clinics!:D

But let's get back to the so far untainted and unsullied Kelly Clarkson. The funny thing is, I never watched American Idol. It was hearing her song "Breakaway" that drew me in. I think that unlike many of today's performers, she's got a real voice. I hope she continues to stretch herself and forge ahead creatively.
