View Full Version : Would you pay to see a TV show in theaters? barwars 11-10-2005, 10:24 PM People pay to watch shows on demand, to watch them on DVD.... but would you pay to see your favorite shows in theaters?? Mysty Eyes 11-11-2005, 12:29 AM No. I'm not a fan of theater-going to begin with. Too many rude people. The seats are not particularly comfy, either. Plus, the toilet is not conveniently located. Nor is the food just in the other room, waiting for me to grab during a commercial, or while the show is on pause. Movie theaters are not conducive to comfort. I'll watch my TV shows at home, thank you very much. dawsongirl 11-11-2005, 02:32 AM No. I don't like watching TV with a crowd of people. Brent88 11-11-2005, 03:04 AM No. I don't like the theater atmosphere to begin with and all the people. I like watching movies at home, can take breaks when you want to and not miss anything, and you don't have to crawl over people to go somewhere. Brad Russ 11-11-2005, 08:38 AM No. I would however go to the theatres to watch musical artists, and bands in concert. I think that would be the next best thing to actually being at the concert live. G-Force Glockstar 11-11-2005, 09:49 AM Probably not. I need the closed captioning. Chocoholic 11-11-2005, 10:57 AM No, I don't even like watching movies in the theaters. It never fails, whenever I go to a movie theater, I always manage to sit near some crying child or obnoxious person who can't stop talking to their companion or on their cellphone. And Heaven forbid you should go say something to that person. They look at you like YOU'RE the one who is rude! MsOrange 11-11-2005, 11:09 AM The more I read your posts, the more you sound like a wanna-be hermit. You must not be a people-person, huh? you've got to be kidding me, right? Damn.... gilligan fanatic 11-11-2005, 11:41 AM no way Janice 11-11-2005, 12:19 PM No way. It takes an act of God to get me to the theater to see a really great movie. Brad Russ 11-11-2005, 12:24 PM No way. It takes an act of God to get me to the theater to see a really great movie. Same here. LOL!! dandelion wine 11-11-2005, 12:40 PM No, I love going to the theater but I'd much rather go there to see a movie. Brent88 11-11-2005, 02:54 PM The more I read your posts, the more you sound like a wanna-be hermit. You must not be a people-person, huh? You need help. dawsongirl 11-11-2005, 02:59 PM The more I read your posts, the more you sound like a wanna-be hermit. You must not be a people-person, huh? Most people get on my nerves. dawsongirl 11-11-2005, 03:05 PM you've got to be kidding me, right? Damn....  Stormtracker TF 11-11-2005, 03:30 PM Would I enjoy watching my favorite shows in the Theater? Sounds pretty cool. So yeah I would. But that idea would never work. Unless you're showing "Desperate Housewives" or something you're not really going to get that big of an audience. So no. MsOrange 11-11-2005, 05:31 PM if it didn't cost as much as a movie, i'd pay to see a new episode of Gilmore Girls in theaters... like the season finale or something... but i'm fine w/ my little TV. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. TJL 11-11-2005, 05:51 PM For a while I was a member of the Museum Of TV And Radio here in New York, and i went to several screenings where they would show a Sitcom or Drama in one of thier theaters (usually there was a lecture or Q&A involving some of the people involved with the show) and I liked that very much. Of course, the theater was full of people who wanted to be there and watch the show, not the ones who make movie going a bit of a nightmare sometimes. tv star collector 11-11-2005, 07:12 PM People pay to watch shows on demand, to watch them on DVD.... but would you pay to see your favorite shows in theaters?? Haven't we been doing that since 1966 (the year they released MUNSTER, GO HOME and the BATMAN movie starring Adam West)?? Hah! TheHappyBurgerMeister 11-11-2005, 08:51 PM No way. I love TV, but watching on show at a movie theatre just seems a little odd! Number 9 Dream 11-11-2005, 09:33 PM I think it would be fun to see my favorite t.v. shows in the theatre :) While I wouldn't do it all the time, I would definately try it out. Sounds fun! p.s. I hope they make more movies based on t.v. shows like they did with Bewitched ...wouldn't that be awesome?
