I was born in 1972. Offhand I can't really think of anything interesting other than that the Vietnam War was raging at that time. I believe that some terrorists killed some atheletes at the summer olympics in Germany that year as well but I don't know too much about that.

I was born in June, 1947. In December, 1947, THE HOWDY DOODY SHOW made
its debut on the NBC television network. So, we both arrived here in the same
year. The freckle-faced guy has always been kind of special to me. His was
the first TV show I ever watched regularly. You don't forget something like that.

You were born the year the Challenger exploded. That year sticks out in my mind because of that horrible day. Watching this happen live is one of many things that technology has brought forth. Just seeing horrific tragedies happen live...there are no words to describe.

I was born in 1965. Some other things that happened then were:

President Johnson named Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg to Adlai Stevenson's U.N. post and named Abe Fortas to the Court vacancy.

The Beatles released Rubber Soul in December. Three months earlier, Capitol released "Yesterday" as a single, which went to number one.

Bob Dylan went electric at the Newport Folk Festival, and also released his great single "Like a Rolling Stone."

Music: Hollywood Swinging, Rock the Boat, Fire, Summer Breeze, Up For the Down Stroke

OMG! I feel so old! In 1974( I had been married 6 years already!) my husband and 2 kids moved into our first new house that year! ( I am still living in the same place!) What I remember about that year(TV-wise) was the Happy Days debut, and other shows like Sanford and Son, Lucas Tanner,(anybody remember that show starring David Hartman?) Oh my my my! Get me ready for the Boneyard!:eek: :lol:

December 21 - Pan Am flight 103 is blown up by Libyan terrorists over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 259 on board and 11 on the ground.
I remember that like it was yesterday. The actor, David White, who played Darrin's boss, Larry Tate, lost his son in that terrorist attack. Jonathan Tate, he was only 33 years old. David died of a heart attack two years later.

that's right!!!! I remember that. OMG. wow, you reminded me of that horrible info. Not that the crash itself wasn't horrible, but it is so shocking that someone we loved to watch on t.v. had their own son murdered.

Death of Stevie Ray. That's another celebrity death that made me cry. I loved his music. I forever will. I loved his guitar playing so much I named my only son after him, Stevie Ray. Wow, thanx for putting that in.

Yeah, David White had a tough life. Six years before Lockerbie, his wife died in childbirth but their daughter survived.

Thanks. 1990 was a bad year for highbrow music, too. It was the year that Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland died. :(
