I have been a fan of Rick(y) Schroder since I was eight years old (I am 27 now). My problem is his wife, Andrea. She married him knowing he was an actor and that he had to "act". I think the reason why he left acting was because of her. She was jealous and it seems as if she is a control freak and a domineering woman. All she seems to do is bitch, bitch, bitch. "I don't want you doing any seens with a woman!" she blasts. I know Rick loves his children and wants to be a wonderful father, but why does he have to succumb to her? She is not even that attractive. It makes me so mad. She took away his first love - acting! What a bitch.

You sound like an insanely jealous person yourself. Can you not accept the fact that maybe- just maybe he loves his wife and family MORE than acting? I am assuming you aren't in a truly happy loving marriage or you would know what he must be feeling. I totally respect him and admire him for putting his family before his career!!! And she may not be a beauty queen but HE LOVES HER and GOOD for him!!!! I'm sure he's banked enough money to take a break from acting so he can sit back and enjoy his new baby and the LOVE from his wife and family.. go watch some Ricky reruns and leave his family alone!

Yeah. Leave him and his family alone. Anyone who's a Rickster fan should respect him and his family and be happy for him that he has someone in his life whom he loves and who loves him back. I am surprised that someone who's 27 years old would act so immature about something like this. Steen, why don't you just grow up and act your age!!!

Does anyone know how many children Ricky & Andrea have? I know 3 for sure. I thought they were going to have a 4th.

Wow! I didn't expect to get such a response. I do admire him for putting his family first, but I had just read that it was his wife that discouraged him from acting and followed him to the set to spy on him. Obviously she doesn't trust him. I was just upset when I read this, and yes perhaps I should have thought about it a little first, but that is no reason to attack me as a person! How do you know if I am in an unhappy marriage? Who are you to say that??? That just makes you as immature as you think I am. You can give your opinion without attacking the person. After all this is a message board. Anyway, I missed his acting a lot over the years because he was so talented. There you go...Oh and by the way, if you know what channel reruns come on please let me know because I haven't heard anything current about it. Thanks!

Actors always use this line. Especially in tv, the hours are long (12-16 hours per day) and it does have an effect on family life. He will still act in tv movies of the week and movies.

I can understand how you feel, because I have felt much the same way. I have long been a Rick Schroeder fan and miss seeing him. He seems to have changed (at least in my perception) quite a bit since his marriage. This is understandable, to a degree, but he seems to be a completely different (and not necessarily happier) person. Maybe this is all just in my perception of things though. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that there is at least one person out here who knows what you were trying to say, even if it was said in a rather harsh way.:)
