Hey Guys- PLEASE check your season 5 DVD's and let me know if you find this:
I noticed in the 4th disc- "Lucy's Italian Movie" - at 16 min 51 seconds- the italian woman says to Lucy- "Get to Work"- at the same time the SPANISH subtitle comes on- even when they are OFF!
I returned the set 3 times- and each set is the same.
I also know it is NOT my DVD player since I tried it on my Sony DVD, Panasonic DVD and my computer.
Appears this is a pressing error. The spanish subtitle is "Ponte a trajabar"- meaning get to work- this is at the top of the screen.
Please post is you are experiencing this problem as well.
Thanks Ed

No, I know in the episode they use english subtitles as originally broadcast. When the italian people in the episode speak- in bold letters at the bottom it translates it to english.

What I am talking about is the SPANISH subtitles that Paramount added for the dvds- at 16 min 51 seconds- I get the orignal episode subtitle that originally aired back in the 50's AND at the TOP of the screen I get "Ponte a Trajabar" which is the spanish subtitle. I want to know if people are experiencing the same problem.

Kazza,
You replied twice to my posts but I still dont think you are understanding what the problem with the DVD is.
I have tried THREE sets and they are all the same, which means others may be experiencing the same problem. I cant be the only one who noticed this.
When I put the episode on- Lucy's Italian Movie- at 16 min 51 sec the SPANISH subtitles comes on out of no where for that ONE part in the episode- I am not talking about the english captions they used when the originally made the episode. I am not spanish so I dont need the subtitle. It is a error on the DVD itself that when the subtitles are turned OFF- for that one part in the episode "ponte a trajabar" appears at the TOP of the screen everytime- then it goes away. During the episode the subtitle does not come on at all except for that one part. I tried 3 seperate sets- all the same. I tried it on 3 different DVD players- so I know it is not my DVD player. I know some epsidoes are subtitled, some are not. Again, justfor the one part it comes on - then goes away- it is at the top of the screen - not the bottom. So if anyone else sees this problem please post. Thanks

I dont think its irrelevant to pay $45.00 and be annoyed by an error. Maybe not to you- thank god we are all different! :)

yes, try writing to or e-mailing Paramount or whoever put out the DVD, and maybe they'll send you a new one. I was having a problem with one of my DVDs of "The Dick Van Dyke show", I e-mailed MCI (the company that put them out), they said to send it back and they'll send me another one. So I did, and they sent it right out.

The Dick Van Dyke Show Seasons One, Two, Three, Four, and Five were issued by Image Home Entertainment, sets produced by DVD genius, Paul Brownstein; the set was not issued by MCI.
