I have heard all good things about this show (except that the dvd's are really expensive) So I wanted to here all the fans and non-fans on what the show is about, your favorite eps/seasons, favorite charcters, similar shows, and If you like the DVD's or not...? Thanks for any input I want to start watching the show but i want more into before i buy the really expensive dvds...

Can you give me some backround info on it, like what is it about, what type of show it is, and other general info...

i was a fan when it was out in the UK... but this was a while back.. i dont think it is as popular s it is in America.

Its about a character called Joel Fleishman who is a doctor and applies for a job but doesnt read the small print, or something goes wrong.. something like that, cant quite remember and he ends up in a really small over eccentric town completely different to where he was from. its a comedy drama so gives u quite a few chuckles!! he makes friends with people in the town and thats the main plot. its the getting knowing the characters that is funny!
I remember seeing Anthony Edwards, or Dr Green from ER guest star in it!! i love him

I think season 4 in coming out in the UK soon...

Yes Northern Exposure was a very good television series. I used to watch it when it was still on CBS Television and I watch it when it was in syndication on Arts And Entertainment Network. I own the DVD Box Set of the First and Second Seasons of Northern Exposure. I am waiting for the Third and Fourth Seasons to be realeased in a DVD Box Set to purchase it.:cool:
