since pages on these boards show up in google results, would attachments show up in google image searches?

The pictures uploaded to the photo galleries here do, but I don't know about attachments. Good question indeed.

I doubt they would since you have to be registered and logged in to view attachments... so the Google Bot probably doesn't even see them.
