Clowns are not supernatural, at least not 30 years ago. They were someone wearing makeup and a red nose. ;) They are silly, not scary. I understand what your saying, but the reason I'm afraid of clowns have nothing to do with the supernatural, It's more like you have no idea what's really going on behind the make up, it's a mask that disguises. You don't know the true intentions. I've had that fear since I first laid eyes on a clown, which was probably about 30 years ago in fact now that I think about it. The reason I used Gacy as an example is that he used that disguise as a means to gain the trust of people, they thought of clowns the same way you are describing. All te while he was slaughtering over 30 boys that they know of ( suspected more ). I'm not saying every clown is Gacy, I'm just saying you don't know which one isn't. It's a human fear, not a supernatural one. And fearing some crazy person out there in this day in age is a valid fear. At least I think so. dawsongirl 11-06-2005, 05:19 AM My parents dying- absolute #1 fear Having no friends Being single for the rest of my life Getting sick Dying alone...Growing old alone My house burning down with my entire life inside it Never getting a decent job Being an outcast my whole life Going broke Getting too fat Being sent to jail People, especially groups of guys who are just standing around...basically I just think most people are sociopaths out to kill Losing all the friends I do have Spiders and bugs that are over my head...if they're at eye level or lower, it's not that big of a deal.
