I'm just wondering if internet geeks are more the super-skinny or obscenely-obese type.

I weigh 165, the lightest I've been since the eigth grade. Earlier this year I weighed 189 at one point, which I think is the highest I've ever been.

Too much. But Im not 'obscenely-obese'. I started a new way of healthy living in January and lost 25 pounds. I since gained about 20 back. ANYWAYS. On the plus, my cholesterol went from 206 [6th grade], to 184.

Yeah Iv'e been pretty worried about it myself over the last year. Fortunately Iv'e been able to stay at 165 over the last 9 months, so atleast I'm not gaining anymore. Before, everyone thought I was sick, or anorexic or something, so most people are actually relieved that Iv'e gained the weight. They say I look better. I take 6 different medications for various mental problems, and four of them cause weight gain, so my nurse is pretty sure that's what it is. She says if I were still gaining, then there would be cause for alarm, but since Iv'e stayed where I'm at, I should be okay. If I can get down to about 140 or 145, I'll be happy. That's about where I'm most comfortable.

That's true. Certain medications can really make somone gain weight. I was on Remeron (sleep medication) for a few years and I went from 120lbs. to 146(the heaviest I've ever been). It took awhile after no longer taking it to lose the weight. I'm currently as of 10/3/2005, at 117lbs. I didn't know ahead of time when I first started taking the medicine that there was a 57% chance of weight gain. It's been 3+ years since I last took the medication. I wasn't even willing to try Elavil for my back when it was bothering me a few months ago because one of the side effects is possible weight gain..

I recently went from 20mg of Paxil to 30mg, and at first I really didn't want to take it because I was afraid I was going to gain so much weight. But so far, so good. But I am so NOT going to go up higher than 30mg.

Is there a way you could look that skinny without starving yourself?

Some girls can pull off that skin and bones look simply because of their bone structure. Some girls have virtually no hips, and if their pelvic bones are narrow enough, they'll look skinny. I'm sure a lot of the girls who wear Size 0 or 2 have small bone structure.

When I was a little younger than you, I had a friend who wore slim fit jeans. I wanted slim fit too, because I thought that meant I was thin. I couldn't wear slim fit to save my life. At the time it made me mad, but later on I realized that no matter how hard I tried, I never would wear slim fit, or a size 4, because my hip bones are too wide. And you can't do a thing about your bone structure except accept it.

Some girls have super fast metabolisms, kinda like Brent.

And some girls just love to exercise. I've never been one of them either.

And I'm glad you decided never to starve again. :)

Girl Meets World: Just because people look like 'twigs' does not mean they are healthy, so dont let them fool you. Being skinny does not equal healthy and being [somewhat] overweight does not equal being unhealthy. It all depends on what you eat. Someone could weigh 120 pounds and eat fastfood and high fat/cholesterol foods everyday, but just have a high metabolism. That is TORTURE on your arteries and youll pay for it later on in life. Whereas someone who weight 220 pounds could eat healthy foods, drink water and exercise. It all depends on what goes in your mouth, because its better to eat healthy and not be a 'twig', but have a healthy heart, then to look like a model and have your arteries clog up. I just dont want you to get the illusion that being skinny automatically makes you healthy. :)

Hey majority of you are still in your teens or in your 20s, just wait till you reach your 30s..then come back and say how much you weigh!
I am 36 years old and I am a size 6; the reason why I am still thin, is because I bust my ass jogging 6 + miles a day..but prior to reaching my 30s. I could eat anything I please and still wore a size 3/4 and was very very thin..then as you become older, your metabolism does slow down.

I used to weigh in the 80-90 pound range from elementary school through my first or second year of college. I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted, and my mom and sister were jealous of that. Not that they were obese, but I was skinnery than them My mom used to to tell me growing up, "You need more meat on your body.", and my mom would always say I would never have a weight problem. I'm now 25 years old and now I wieigh 120. Not that that's a weight problem or something to complain about, but I hate it. I know that's a normal weight for me, and I should be happy about that, but honestly I'm not. I can't eat whatever I want anymore, had to go up a few sizes in pants and dresses. I don't like my body image like I did when I was growing up, and now my mom is on and off again telling me my thighs are fat. Heck, I know my thighs and tummy are not like they used to be, but the negetive comments don't help me. I hate my body image, but just trying my best to drink more water, less pop, and cutting back on my love of chocolate having only dessert after lunch and dinner. I want to at least get down to 100 pounds, even though I would love to get back to the 94-96 pound range, but know that it would not be healthy for me. I have trouble dealing with my body image ever since noticing these changes, but just try my best to deal with it.

I have trouble dealing with my body image ever since noticing these changes, but just try my best to deal with it.You were probably more active when you were younger. Plus, people's metabolism slow down as they get older. It's best to just deal with them, as your last sentence states. being underweight is not a good thing.

I'd LOVE to more than anything, but then if I did I'd get grounded for weeks....too bad someone else can't do it for me!
