Man! What a schedule!!! Even for 1981! WKBS-TV was part of Kaiser Broadcasting which owned stations such as WKBD-TV Channel 50, Detroit (now a UPN affiliate), WKBG (now WLVI) Channel 56, Boston, Massachusetts, WB affiliate, KBHK-TV Channel 44, San Francisco, California (UPN affiliate), KBSC-TV Channel 52, Corona/Los Angeles, California (now KVEA, a Telemundo affiliate). WKBS-TV Channel 48 was a very popular independent television station for the Philadelphia area when it came to childrens programming. Sadly, the station would be in for more difficult times. WKBS-TV went off the air in 1983 and returned as WGTW in 1992 as an alternative affiliate when most NBC shows were pre-empted. In October 2004, WGTW was sold to the Trinity Broadcasting Network, (TBN) out of Santa Ana, California, a 24-hour religious network geared to Christian Evangelical (Pentecostal/Baptist Fundamentalist) programming.
