What's with Dom's and Louis' extra-large credits? They're not big stars. Just popular comedians.

They were well known?

there are other main guest stars that had large credits to, I think.

Well, Louis Nye was well-known anyway (for his regular appearances on THE
STEVE ALLEN SHOW and his occasional appearances, as Sonny Drysdale, on
THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES). But Dom DeLuise didn't become a star until years
later (THE DEAN MARTIN SHOW, LOTSA LUCK, etc.). I think Paul Lynde and
Dayton Allen had large screen credits, too. All were very funny comedians.

Nope. I'm 100% positive Dom and Louis got the biggest credits. No one else ever got as big.

Frankly, I never really paid that much attention to the closing credits. But it
might be that their managers just swung a better deal for their clients.

I recall that, on LAVERNE & SHIRLEY, in order to keep both of the stars happy, Penny Marshall's name was first but on the lower left side of the screen while Cindy Williams' name was last but on the upper right of the screen (or maybe vice versa; I haven't watched that show in a while). Anyway, it was an interesting way of splitting the top billing. (Of course, when you think about it, it was a silly argument
since, obviously, the character Laverne's name appears first in the title. Someone had to be first.)
