Seriously. Alice was needed as comic relief. Remember Kay? She and Carol together were about as funny as a radiation leak at a preschool.

Florence Hederson has said she always asked if Carol could have a job.I guess she too felt like Carol didn't seem to be all that busy.I agree Alice was a must she was the funniest character on the show.
