View Full Version : Dwayne's Dream- worst episode?
seventies_sitcoms 10-29-2005, 10:32 PM I'm watching Season 3 now, and I have to say Dwayne's Dream is probably my least favorite episode of the series so far.
I call it one of those "Desperate for a plot" episodes. You know, its like Roseanne on Gilligan's Island or Bobby Brady dreaming about Jesse James. I hate episodes that stray from the path of the show. lol.
They must've borrowed the peanut seller outfit from Good Times and had to cut it down short for Haywood Nelson to wear. lol
Brian Damage 11-07-2005, 11:09 AM I agree, it was a poor episode. Besides, I hate dream sequence episodes anyway.

Any episode with dwayne as the focus would be A$$. He was just a weak character. He should have went to the supermarket with mabel-lol
Brian Damage 11-07-2005, 12:25 PM I disagree, I don't think Dwayne was that weak of a character.

Brian he added nothing
Kevmath 11-07-2005, 01:28 PM Have you seen The Last Page yet? Probably the worst episode yet, especially the 1.98 set they were using for the TC/HD/M&M sequences. Seemed like filler to get to 65 episodes.

Yes, that's the worst episode of TV history.

I know, Shirley as MINDY????-LOL
Brian Damage 11-07-2005, 09:07 PM Brian he added nothing
I completely disagree. Was he is the funniest character? No. But he was funny in his own way.
hazlenut 11-07-2005, 11:56 PM Are you kidding me?! Dwayne was funny in many episodes, just because one happened to suck doesn't make him not funny or weak. I can't think of one sitcom that doesn't have at least one "what were they thinking when they made this" episode. I always blamed that on the writers, not the actors/characters. However I did find Dwayne's character funnier on WHN! then on WH!
TVFactFan 11-08-2005, 12:00 AM Dwayne was a SISSY, and scared of GIRLS, and his character just didn't do anything for me. All he needed was some glasses and he would have been a 1976 Urkel

So your definition of a sissy is someone who's shy??? And I would hope that his character didn't do anything for you, Or I would have to think twice about which tree you swing from.

What I meant was I don't like PASSIVE male TV characters. Never did. I like male characters who are cool and not afraid of everything like gay a$$ dwayne-lol

RAJ WAS THE URKEL OF 1976
TVFactFan 11-08-2005, 03:29 PM RAJ WAS THE URKEL OF 1976
But raj was a cool mutherF8888-lol Dwayne was a well you know already
Brieannas21 11-08-2005, 07:12 PM How was Raj cool? He was in High School and still getting whoopin's LOL he wasn't all that great with the girls either. I don't think he was the Urkel of 1976 either, the only thing Urkel and Raj had in common was that they were both black, skinny, and wore glasses.

For you to ask me how was Raj Cool means you never watched a episode of What';s Happening. I just don't know how you can ask me something silly like that.
robby76 11-08-2005, 09:06 PM Rerun was the gay acting one - that high pitched limp weak drawl of a voice. Plus he was a good dancer which always equates... ha ha!

There wasn't anything gay about Freddie Stubbs

Well, if you can't tell me anything about Raj that makes him cool then I guess he wasn't, other then him being smart. And Yes Rerun was very feminine, the way he spoke and his moments, he looked a little gay. No disrespect to any gay people out there.

What did Dwayne look like?
robby76 11-09-2005, 01:16 AM Dwayne just looked young. Most boys under 18 look girlie cos they're still kids.
Brieannas21 11-09-2005, 01:20 AM What did Dwayne look like?
He didn't look feminine with his movements like Rerun that's for sure, he didn't talk like a woman either.

whatever, I can't go by you because was in love with dwayne. When the hell did rerun talk like a women?-lol

I never said that I was in love with anyone, And Rerun talked like a woman just about everytime he spoke.

The only time I remember Rern talking like a girl is when Rollo from Sanford and Son guest starred.
robby76 11-09-2005, 08:56 PM I even dedicated a thread to "camp Rerun" a couple of months back. Anyway, everyone has different perceptions, but I was shocked at how effiminate he was... I never realised as a young kid.
TO ADD : If I recall, the 2nd season episode where Rerun's brother-in-law bets on the game, struck me as Rerun being particularly camp, so you can check that one out again if you want.
New theory - perhaps Rerun gave himself a high pitched voice for the show to try and be more like an 18 yr old. Y'know make him sound younger.

Now we all know that by the time a young man reaches the age of 18 his voice has changed and should be deeper.
CindyRoxiesLair2006 12-09-2005, 08:53 PM "Dwayne's Dream" wasn't exactly the worst episode of all the WH's. There were a couple of others that superceded that particular one, as far as "worst episodes" go...
For instance, the one where Rerun joined the cult of Lettuce-Worshippers... dumb, dumb, DUMB...
