Now that we have both DVDs, which Season do you think was better? To me, it will always be the Second Season, because their characters really became their characters, especially Fred Gwynne's, Herman Munster. And I love the Season 2 theme, much better than the first version.

I like them both for different reasons. However, there wasn't a "both" choice.

My best,
Dirt

I really didn't want to put a "Both" choice, because I would like to see which one people really prefer.

I understand. I just wanted to explain why I didn't vote for one or the other. (Which child is your favorite?)

I prefer season two, however, I like Beverly Owen more as Marilyn than Pat Priest. Most of my favorites are in season 2:

A House Divided
Just Another Pretty Face
Herman's Peace Offensive

Among others, obviously.

I like some things in Season 1 and some things in Season 2.
In Season 1, like TV Adam, I prefer Beverley Owen as Marilyn. I also like the dark sets and creepier makeup the early episodes had which borrowed from the Universal horror movies. Some of that was gone at some point.
In Season 2, I think the writing got even funnier. Some outrageous stuff.
One of my favorite scenes in Season 2 is when Fred Gwynne as Johann is sitting there eating a chair!
Dr. Frankenstein scolds him: "Johann, how many times do I have to tell you, we are guests in this hotel. We do not eat the furniture."
They were on a roll.

I'm glad we're not talking about Gunsmoke (1955-1975).

Here's that classic line in MP3.

I was recalling the dialog from memory. Almost got it right.
Ever since I got the First season DVD set, I haven't watched the Munsters on TV Land, so I haven't seen the 2nd season in a while.
Still haven't bought Season 2.

There is a new scene in A Visit From Johann that you will only see in the DVD copy, it is not shown in the TVLand copy. The new scene is when Johann and Lily are driving to Happy Valley Lodge. I won't go into further details, because it is very funny, and I don't want to spoil it for others.
