Janet Tripper 10-28-2005, 07:21 PM Yay!! The best news ever!!! Thanks !!!:) Can't wait for all those JJ moments;)!:D
Heidi Dawn 10-30-2005, 10:11 AM At least we won't have a long wait between seasons 5 and 6. It would be nice to see Priscilla on the extras. It'll also be nice to see the season premiere episode unedited in the hour-long format (in which it originally aired).
Pavan 10-30-2005, 10:21 AM It'll also be nice to see the season premiere episode unedited in the hour-long format (in which it originally aired).
I think it will be. With the original bumper with John Ritter saying in between, "Stay tuned, the second half of Three's Company will continue in a moment." Same goes for the "Best of Three's Company" special. You can view both bumpers on my website's multimedia (in videos) section to see what I mean.
Heidi Dawn 10-31-2005, 10:00 AM It's been so long since I've seen 'The Best of Three's Company', almost 20 years. The CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) aired Three's Company reruns all through the 1980's (those were the days) and they also aired 'The Best of Three's Company' as part of it, in two parts of course. It'll be nice to see it also unedited.
Mrs. John Ritter 11-01-2005, 02:58 PM I can't wait to get season 6 on DVD. Priscilla is my favorite of the girls, and I am looking forward to seeing my favorite episodes out. I would also love it if they bring TAC and TR out on DVD also.

Hopefully it will have more extras than season 5. Don't get me wrong, Season 5 is good, but the extras did dissappoint me a little. For instance, there was no bloopers.
JackTripper258 11-26-2005, 12:01 PM aren't the bloopers only on season 2?

Thanks for the info...any if there is anyway you could suggest Bloopers we would totally appreciate you!!!
Chain Gang Member 12-02-2005, 03:45 PM I guess we get commentary on an episode of the season even though Chris Mann isn't doing it
SoapFan71 12-02-2005, 07:43 PM I wonder y Lucille Ball never did an episode of the show since she wuz such a big fan??!! I know she did the "Best of" but I mean an actual episode! That would've been kewl!
I Love John Ritter 12-02-2005, 11:05 PM The episode with the commentary is "Jack Bares All"? Wow, if there was going to be an episode with a commentary, I was almost 100% sure it was going to be "Up In The Air". That's really surprising.
Terri Cardellini 12-03-2005, 12:23 AM Thanks for the info...any if there is anyway you could suggest Bloopers we would totally appreciate you!!!
OR a Priscilla interview would also be nice :D
Heidi Dawn 12-03-2005, 10:33 AM Extras and bonuses are nice, but they're not essential for me to enjoy the DVD sets. Just having Three's Company uncut is a nice bonus in itself.
Janet Tripper 12-03-2005, 10:38 AM I think a commentary on UITA would have been nice but I can see where they chose Jack Bares All! Since it's PB's frist epi and stuff!!! I like tha epi so it's cool for the commentary to be there...
I so agree A PB INTERVIEW WOULD ROCK!!!
CM1124 12-05-2005, 04:04 AM The other great thing about commentary on Jack Bares All is that that episode is an hour long so we get twice the insight! :)
Janet Tripper 12-05-2005, 02:47 PM The other great thing about commentary on Jack Bares All is that that episode is an hour long so we get twice the insight! :)
Smart thinking!!! :) I can't wait!
_Jack&Janet_ 12-24-2005, 06:23 PM What about extras...is that all, or will there be the Best Of... In there too, and some more interviews and bloopers?
brasspounder 12-26-2005, 12:41 AM Extras and bonuses are nice, but they're not essential for me to enjoy the DVD sets. Just having Three's Company uncut is a nice bonus in itself.
I agree! As for Season 5 I would not have missed those Chrissy phone tag scenes if they were not included. They did nothing for me.
Janet Tripper 01-02-2006, 10:22 PM YAY!!! We can order season 6 already from Amazon!! For only like $21!!!!

Auntie 01-10-2006, 10:16 AM aren't the bloopers only on season 2?
The faster the better season 6 comes out. I'm not a winter person. I'm more of a spring/summer person:).

Pavan 01-24-2006, 10:47 AM One additional extra for this set: "Laughs Around the World: Episode in Polish"
Pavan 01-24-2006, 10:59 AM Press Release:
On March 7, IDT Entertainment's Anchor Bay Entertainment will give you three times the laughter and three times the fun with Three’s Company - Season 6. The show that helped shake up “jiggle TV” is back with a loopy mix of outrageous farce and screwy physical comedy. The series, that had an enormously popular run on ABC (1977-84), gets its wild 6th season beautifully packaged into a 4-disc set that contains all 28 episodes, including many fan favorites.
Based on the British series Man of the House, Three’s Company had fun with changing sexual attitudes and mores, and remains a colorful snapshot of the times and a laugh out loud funny TV original. The story of an amorous young chef named Jack Tripper (John Ritter, 8 Simple Rules), who shares a tiny beach side apartment with two very smart and sexy women, Janet (Joyce Dewitt, Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Three’s Company) and Terri (Priscilla Barnes, The Devil’s Rejects), who lead Jack into a wacky barrage of titillating misunderstandings. Along the way the platonic threesome will have to deal with the raised eyebrows of their not-to-hip landlord, Mr. Furley (Don Knotts, Andy Griffith Show), and their swinging bachelor neighbor, Larry (Richard Kline, Inside Schwartz).
Three’s Company - Season 6 contains some of the late John Ritter’s best moments; including the episode “Up in the Air” that remains a virtual showcase for the talented comedic actor’s masterful timing and elastic physical skills. The 6th season also rolls out a wonderfully manic guest appearance by Jeffery Tambor (Arrested Development) as a doctor who seems to be in need of his own medical attention.
Special Features:
* The Best of Three’s Company: Hosted by Lucille Ball
* Audio Commentary with Director Dave Powers
* Laughs Around the World Episode in Polish
* Booklet with Detailed Liner Notes

Does that Lucille Ball Garbage really need to be on the DVD? Enough is Enough
Moonlight Lady 01-24-2006, 01:02 PM Oh my god, I love it! :woohoo: Great picture and I love the yellow!
I love the color too, just in time for spring. :D
Raisingdad2004 01-24-2006, 01:15 PM The extra's really are weak now. The 'Best Of' features were hardly a great addition, but they even stopped adding those.
I don't think the Lucille Ball feature will appeal to everybody, so they needed to add more extra's. Why no more Blooper's? Maybe they are saving them for another release, but they should have included seasonal bloopers on each release.
The Dave Powers commentary is a great feature though.
Terri Cardellini 01-24-2006, 01:46 PM OMG OMG OMG YAY FINALLY :D :D :D :D
LOVIN' THE COVER YAY
TV DVD Fan 01-24-2006, 04:27 PM Bottom line---
Extras started to diminish in quality and quantity in season four, and never reached that high quality standard again. AB should get their act back together again and give us quality extras.
ALTHOUGH, this set may turn out to flourish in quality, depending on what LAUGHS AROUND THE WORLD IS. If it were a decent, 90 minute doc about the dailies of producing a THREE'S COMPANY episode, that would more than make up for the other garbage (I'm talking about the Best-ofs here) that was thankfully omitted from this release, seen on all other releases since season two of this show.
Pavan, TJ, anybody, any clue? (And if this is just another way for saying "Best ofs", then I'm pissed)
Pat
Pavan 01-24-2006, 06:21 PM Chris Mann is not involved anymore, thus this is why the special features have been downgraded, but still we get some features. All I care is we get every episode unedited. Anything else is just a bonus.

I knew that would be the cover art for this box set and Priscilla looks so so pretty:D

True, true... but damn, can't they get him back before the series has ended its DVD run?
Pat
Terri Cardellini 01-24-2006, 08:48 PM AND... no Priscilla interview... *sniff* *sniff* .... I guess they never even asked her because she said she would have loved to participate :( so no one can say that she turned them down. But I'm happy just having the FULL episodes ;)
Pavan 01-24-2006, 08:59 PM True, true... but damn, can't they get him back before the series has ended its DVD run?

He didn't leave, they told him to leave.
Terri Cardellini 01-24-2006, 10:01 PM He didn't leave, they told him to leave.
aw, that's kinda rude :(
I Love John Ritter 01-24-2006, 10:10 PM I knew that was going to be the picture that would be on the cover of season 6. I was looking through my DVD sets the other day and I thought that maybe they would do season 6 in yellow, and they did
Janet Tripper 01-24-2006, 11:51 PM I don't mean to be rude or involve racisim into this b/c I come from a minorty heritage but ....why are they putting an epi in polish....when they could use that extra space for a cast interview or something where we don't go back to the same thing!! Behind stuff and bloopers would be great!!! But its true Pav, we should be thankful that we are at least gettin them on DVD and unedited!!
chrismann 01-25-2006, 12:44 AM He didn't leave, they told him to leave.
Hi All,
Our good friend Pavan is usually right-on about all things 3's Co, but in this instance ... well, this isn't accurate. And this inaccuracy may be partly my fault, as I have not posted anything about my departure from the project. So I guess I should respond now.
I considered continuing with the DVDs for Season 5-8. Joyce DeWitt, another staff member and I looked into producing the bonus materials for these seasons. We could not come to terms with DLT Entertainment and thus no deal was reached. And so DLT went in another direction with the extras, which was their choice, of course.
Subsequently, I was asked by Anchor Bay to write liner notes for Season 5, but I politely declined due to other commitments. And that's the last contact I've had with DLT or Anchor Bay regarding these DVDs.
Hope that clears everything up. I'm working on several other projects now, but I'm very proud of what the "extras" production team for S1-4/5 put together, and I'm glad to hear they were appreciated. I wish Anchor Bay and DLT continued success with these releases.
Best,
Chris Mann

Thanks for clarifying things up for us. We really enjoyed your comments and would have hoped your projects would have come thru on the extras!!!
Raisingdad2004 01-25-2006, 09:30 AM How could nobody at Anchor Bay even put together the Best Of Features which are renound on TC dvd's. I mean, thats just lazy.

Your commentary was the main highlight for me as far as those extras went. You did a great job. I'm sorry you won't be doing more.
_Jack&Janet_ 01-26-2006, 07:49 PM :(... darn.... I think either black or white would be cool for the cover... :D
Heidi Dawn 01-29-2006, 05:14 PM I figured that Anchor Bay would use that particular cast picture, after all, it features everyone, including Jenilee Harrison. I figured that they would use orange this time, but the yellow is nice too.
TV DVD Fan 01-29-2006, 06:28 PM Thanks, Mr. Mann, for your comments. That was rather unpolite and unprofessional of them to not listen to your suggestions, as I'm sure they were great. I bet alot of the sales came from the abundance of effort that you put into the sets.
Hopefully we'll be able to see your other projects in the near future! Best of luck!
Pat
swedeace 02-02-2006, 07:09 PM Awesome news!!!!
This season is also my most favorite season, so I am SUPER excited!!! I'll be purchasing this on the first day! :D
swedeace 02-02-2006, 07:13 PM Okay, one more dumb question I have....
What does "Laughs around the world" Polish episode mean? Is there going to be an episode that was originally aired in Poland not in the States, or....?
I'm confused....

I don't think so!! I think that will be an orginal epi....the same one we've watch with just someone else's voice instead of John, Joyce, PB, and the rest of the cast!!! :dizzy:

TV DVD Fan 02-02-2006, 10:19 PM Ah, so it's probably a dubbed episode? Interesting....
... you mean UNINTERESTING.
I think it sucks, give us quality, Anchor Bay and do a sensical thing like trying to get back Chris Mann! Letting him go was the worst move I ever heard of in my entire life.
Pat
Pavan 02-03-2006, 08:44 PM One additional extra for this set: "Laughs Around the World: Episode in Polish"
CLARIFICATION OF THIS EXTRA:
No it is NOT an episode in Polish. It is an 8 minute or so featurette introduced by George Sunga. He details the worldwide popularity of the show and new versions of the show are being produced internationally using the original scripts. In Poland, they have their own Three's Company with their own actors (but the same scripts are used). This featurette shows bits of the episode "Paradise Lost" in Polish , interlaced with the US version.
I've seen this featurette. While it is not one of the best featurettes to ever hit DVD, it is well done. And I repeat, it is NOT an episode of Three's Company dubbed in Polish.
Pavan 02-04-2006, 01:26 PM Not about S6, but I have a little news for S7. Check my Three's Co page for details.
Heidi Dawn 02-08-2006, 03:49 PM Anchor Bay has done such a great job with the DVD's. I'm glad that they're putting them out at a fast pace (about every 4-6 months).

Not lately. AB is slowly becoming my least favorite DVD company.

Auntie 02-20-2006, 10:51 AM I wonder y Lucille Ball never did an episode of the show since she wuz such a big fan??!! I know she did the "Best of" but I mean an actual episode! That would've been kewl!
That's a good question. Probably too busy. Also, which episode was it where they showed that tag scene where Terri comes out in that little night gown and Jack spills his drink on Janet? It was in the episode where Lucile Ball hosted 'the Best Of Three's Company'.
_Jack&Janet_ 02-20-2006, 05:08 PM Yeah I never saw that! Maybe it was one of those lost moments :D
Janet Tripper 03-01-2006, 02:01 PM It may be the tag for Jack Bares it All?!?! Maybe!?! Or there is another epi I think its the one where Jack replaces Felipe that Terri is playing when Jack comes in!!
