He's having back surgery tomorrow morning (8am) to repair a ruptured disc in his back. It's called Spinal Fushion Surgery. They're putting two pins in his back.

It's a 4-hour operation, and he'll be in the hospital for four days. I'm a wreck, but he's been suffering in pain since the disc ruptured seven weeks ago. He needs this operation.

His recuperation at home will be about six weeks, so I'll be playing nurse.

I know that back surgery is fairly safe. The thing that concerns me is that he has a heart condition and diabetes.

BTW, I had the same surgery in 2000. I was in excruciating pain for three months. I pray your husband will know that even though he will be in physical pain, that our Lord will watch over him and ease him through this time. I know exactly how he feels. I had a ruptured disc and a herniated disc. Take care. Let us know how things go. Irene

Aww I'm so sorry Janice. He is definitely in my prayers. My brother has bulging discs in his back. He also has scoliosis and another bone disease. They have him in a back brace now but his bones are 17 years old so they think they found it too late. In december they are deciding whether or not to operate, where I will have to play nurse lol. Your family is in my prayers!:)

I know I'm more than a little late (I don't get on the boards as much as I'd like to, anymore), but I'm so glad your husband is doing well, Janice! Surgery is definitely scary. I had minor surgery a few years back... not fun for anyone. Glad things are well.
