Living Single being released before Martin? Surprising

Last time i checked tvshowsondvd.com, Martin was the #31 unreleased show. I thought that was surprising. I didn't think that many people wanted it.

HUH? Martin was more popular than

Jamie Foxx Show
Living Single
Wayans Brothers
Parenthood
Steve Harvey

I figure it would be more popular than all of those shows. I'm just saying of all the unreleased shows listed on tsod.com, I didn't expect Martin to be ranked #31.

I bought my DVD last week, and since I'm on Vacation for 2 weeks I thought that I would actually watch it today. And to my surprise the episodes that I've watched seem to be the syndicated versions, I think that these are edited. I haven't seen anything new or out of the ordinary as of yet. I'm kinda disappointed.

Well we don';t know for sure, because Freh Prince eps on DV have the same length and they were uncut. I think in the 90's eps were reduced to 22min in primetime

I'll have to see, I haven't watched the whole DVD yet.

Does anyone know if Season 1 sold good enough to warrant another release? Or will it end up like Murphy Brown and Night Court...

I couldn't tell you, it probably didn't do too well in sells. I was very disappointed because season 1 dvd set was the syndicated version.

Season One of Living Single on dvd does not include syndicated versions. All of the episodes are uncut. The dvds include several scenes that are missing in syndication.

One episode that really sticks out for me is "Burglar in the House" when the girls are robbed. When Khadijah, Regine, and Synclaire are in Khadijah's room cowering from the robber, Khadijah grabs her nunchucks and heads out of the room. Regine says "I'm not waiting up here by myself girl, grab something!", and they show them grab something and leave the room. In syndication, it goes to the next scene. However- on the dvd, they clearly show that Regine gets a huge bible and Synclaire gets a slipper. Regine sees the slipper and says "Great Synclaire, what are you gonna do? Beat him down with Isotoners?!" and Synclaire says "What are you gonna do, hit him with the Bible?" and Regine replies "Over and over again!".

Also, after the girls are robbed, Synclaire suggests that they move to Minneapolis. In syndication, they move on to another scene. On the dvd, Overton replies "Isn't that where that guy with the purple buttless jeans comes from?" [a reference to Prince], and he shakes his head in disagreement about moving to Minneapolis.

These scenes are cut in syndication on all channels except Oxygen, and that's because the Oxygen network shows the original network versions of the show (Thank goodness for Oprah!)

The shows on the dvds are uncut, and they run a shorter time than shows on dvd from the 70s and 80s because they were cut shorter during their original network run for more commercials (I wouldn't be surprised if shows today clocked in at just 20 minutes).

I saw Season One on sale at Wal-Mart today for $20. I'm going to go back on Tuesday and buy it along with IDOJ and The Ellen Show.
