I had a 1969 Malibu, red with a wooden steering wheel. It belonged to my boyfriend who ended up being my husband who then ended up my ex-husband. I was 17 and it was beautiful.
I was promised a 1980 Camaro when I was 15 but I screwed up, as teens usually do, and my dad changed his mind.

After years of driving both of my parents cars, my dad realized I needed my own car so we wouldn't have to work our schedules out with each other (haha...this got really complicated when classes started this year and were all over the place). It's been almost two months since I've had my car- a BLACK '06 Toyota Camry. It's the most amazing car ever. =)

I don't have my own car right now, but I do drive my parents' 1994 Dodge Caravan. I don't like driving it much at all.

Hopefully I can get my own car next year.

Perfect timing - I don't need to make a new thread, I can just use this one!

I have a car now - got it last week. 1997 Ford Taurus.

First car was a previously salvaged 89 Cavalier. It was kinda junky, but it was fun to drive and it was pretty reliable. I kinda wish I had it back.

We have a old 1987 Ford Mustang. It's been sitting forever and breaks down alot, but that thing kicks in in the clutch when you really need to go somewhere.

One of my High School friends had a '69 Chevelle, but with a 6-cyl engine---- (250 cu in). Light blue.

My first car was a 1966 Dodge Dart GT V-8. Being a car guy/gear head, I modified it (4-bbl carb, shift kit, dual exhaust, electronic ignition). I drove it regularly from 1979 to 1995 and owned it up to 2002.
Here's a photo of it:

Man, they sure don't build cars like they used to.

Yeah, it was solid and reliable. I got it in 1979 and didn't have to put in a replacement fuel pump until 1990, so it lasted at least 11 years (I don't know how old the pump was when I bought it- it may have been the original).
It had chrome all over it, as you can see in the photo, and an aluminum (not plastic) grille and REAL chrome bumpers. Bucket seats and a console with the shifter in the middle. It could do 75 mph in second gear and 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds and still get 14-20 mpg.

My first car was a red Chevy Chevette that was handed down to me and my brother from my parents.

It cruised along the highways at a scorching 45 MPH.

I think my very first car that I had before is 1991 Saturn. My car's color is gray. It's about like 10 years I had and being replaced by 2001 Honda Van I think.

My first was an '86 Chevy Cavalier. It was a piece of junk and broke down a lot.
It was fun to frive when it actually ran, however. It just spend much of it's time on the back of a towtruck.

Yeah, those were really slow. One of my friends rented one and asked me to park it at my house (I forgot the reason). I took it to one of the corners I used to do burnouts with my Dart. The Chevette didn't do a thing! It moved out real slow, with not even a chirp from the tires. I think my bicycle could have done better.
Here is a photo of my Dart in action. :D

Hey, it looks like you modifed that... look at those wide tires in the back. Did you put on headers and a Holley carb without telling your mom? ;)

You know, speaking of cars, since I already own the Cadillacs I desire, I would like to own a '60s Mopar muscle car. If only the asking prices weren't so high. I would pick a '69 Dodge Coronet R/T. They came standard with a 440-Magnum, 375 hp (underrated, more like 410 hp) and 480 ft/lb torque. I would try to find one with bucket seats and auto trans w/console shift.
The one in the pic below is just what I would want. Unfortunately, examples in good condition like the one below sell for a minimum of about $12,000-20,000 and up.

I took the photo. I asked a friend to drive because he couldn't take good pictures. I just told him to leave it in 2nd gear and floor it!

Yep, I was quite a little mechanic when I was a boy. When my mom's car would break down, I was always the first one she'd ask to fix it.

That's actually not really me in the photo. LOL!! When I saw the subject of your post, I did a yahoo search, and found it. I was actually much cuter when I was boy!! ;)

A 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. I got it in 1988. AM music radio was on its way out at the time; the radio was AM only, and it used an antenna embedded in the windshield (John DeLorean's idea). I had to get a $20 FM adaptor from Radio Shack to listen to Rush the band, not Rush the Limabugh!

The car died on me after a year. It was always cumbersome to drive. I don't miss it. :( :p
