I starting noticing after watching the DVD episodes in order from the beginning, that James and Florida seemed to be using JJ's catch phrases more and more. I think that started to bother them because they weren't supposed to be silly like that, that was JJ's job. Maybe the producers/writers thought, the more "Dynomites" and "I knooooooows", the funnier. So Maybe John and Esther wanted to nip it in the bud before they became type cast like Jimmie "JJ Kid Dynomite" Walker did, and wanted to protect their acting credibilty..... what y'all think?

yeah, I agree, and when the whole family got in on the act, it was just annoying. I hate to say that abt one of my fave shows but that's how i felt. How many times could we hear that? And then hear it from four other people??? my God!!!

Yeah they went over the top with that whole Dy-no-mite phrase. I could see JJ saying it a couple of times, But not in every episode or just about every episode. That would get on anyones nerves. It's like in the summer when a new song comes out and the first couple times you hear it you like it and then after a month of hearing it, it start to grate on your nerves.
Didn't they stop saying Dynomite after a while? It seems like Penny was the last person to say it.

james and Florida didn't look right when they said "I knoooooow!!!!!. They looked kind of goofy. If u noticed, John Amos didn;t want to do it in the episode when J.J was rejected by Thelma's Friend. It was at the end when she says-"U know your son really has class" and that's when they said it but John Amos looked like he was not happy about doing it.
