O.K. I'm going to throw out this question (which is a little bit out of "the main-stream") and see if anyone is interested enough to respond. If you're old enough to remember the 1950s and 1960s, you know that Dell or Gold Key
published a comic book tied in to nearly every TV sit-com on the air. From
the 1970s to the present, you can count on about ten fingers the number of
comics based on TV sit-coms (PARTRIDGE FAMILY, HAPPY DAYS, WELCOME
BACK KOTTER, SLEDGE HAMMER!, MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, ALF, THE SIMPSONS, FUTURAMA,
SAVED BY THE BELL, DINOSAURS, any others?). What TV sit-com (past or present)
would you like to see in comic book form (Mark Evanier, on his website POVonline.com has suggested--and someone even created some mockup covers for THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW)? My own list would include:
LAVERNE & SHIRLEY
BARNEY MILLER
CHICO & THE MAN
ONE DAY AT A TIME
ALICE
CPO SHARKEY
FISH
CARTER COUNTRY
MORK & MINDY (a natural for the medium)
FRASIER
EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND
GILLIGAN'S ISLAND (another natural for the medium)
