For as long as a Night Court fan as I have been, I have never seen this episode and finally it was on Friday and my VCR decided not to record.
I know the summary from episode guides but can someone please give me more details about this episode because now I have to wait months before it comes on again. Thanks! :)

In a nut shell, Christine is throwing a party for Prince Charles and Lady Diana's anniversary. Naturally, no one wants to go but Harry pretty much forces them to "no matter how dull and boring" it might be. Christine hears how no one wants to come and is pretty hurt. So rambles to herself (but out loud to everyone) about how now she isn't going to invite them to Snoopy's birthday and she rambles about all these Charles and Di facts. This man answers one of her tangents about Diana's maiden name. Next thing you known, Christine finds out he's an Anglofile like her and she ends up spontaneously inviting him to her party. She hands him this scroll invitation like she handed everyone else. It turns out the guy is being protected by the police because he witnessed a mob murder. We only discover this fact after Christine leaves the cafeteria. The man goes to sit down and one half of the hand cuffs he's wearing slips from under his sleeve. The other half is attached to his wrist. At the party, everyone shows up including the guy Chrisitne met. Harry tries to do a trick with on the guy only to discover the man has real hand cuffs on. A dectective barges in on the party, because he was looking for the guy. He tells them the man's story and goes on to say that they all should stay away from the windows. There is a car outside with a hitman in it and he wouldn't care if he plugged a hole into everyone in the room. Dan, feeling that this can't happen because they are so far up, screams for help out the window. Next thing, you hear a shot fired and you see Dan jump as the bullet has just missed his manhood. He hits the ground (I think.), as do the others, and in a squeaky, airy voice whispers "Help." (P.S. Dan has also brought this statuesque Itailan girl to Christine's party, because he had a date with her. He tried to get out of Christine's party by quickly coming in with the girl and breezing out with her only to be pushed back in by Harry and company. Maria, the Italian girl, is in to danger so she is very turned on by what's happening. Once Dan discovers this and that this may be it for them, he goes to have sex with Maria on Christine's kitchen floor as all the excitment continues to happen around them. As Dan put it when he picked his head up for a moment, "We're gonna make one hell of a chalk outline.")
The gang then proceeds to barricade Christine's apartment by nailing her stuffed animals to the window, braking a lamp she got in Paris, breaking dishes from a China cabinet she had...in other words her aprtment was in a shambles. Finally detectives arrive to tell them they got the hitman and that they are out of danger. The man gives a little speech saying, "Who knows who's out there gunning for me." Maria hears this speech the guy gives, picking her head up from behind Christine's kitchen counter, and goes off with the guy. If I remember, I think you then hear Dan saying things like, "Oh I love it when you do it like that. Oh, baby." Harry goes over to Dan, who we can't see, and breaks the news that Maria is gone. Dan pops his head up, "I knew that." Anyway, Christine is depressed because the party was a disaster and she feels like no one likes her because she is a "big poop." They all convince her that that's not true. You then hear a knock at her door. She yells for whoever it is to go away. The person knocks again. Christine yells something like, "Hey knothead can't you take a hint leave." or something like that. Next frame you see "the Queen Mother" standing out their shrugging with her invitation to Christine's party.
The End!

LOL! Yeah a great Dan subplot even tho it's a Christine ep. He tries to blow through the party in sixty seconds rambling off "Hey, what a place what a bash looks like a lot of fun who lives here a smurf? Well sorry we couldn't stay longer tell Christine we had a lot of fun bye!" Only to be intercepted by Harry and the gang at the door.
Nitcrt1, did they actually show the plates crashing or are you going from memory? I was either out of the room or they cut the scene where they unwisely try and move her plate rack/stand and everything falls and breaks hehe.
Dick O' Neill---old time actor---was great as the sarcastic detective who ends up at the party. A Dick O' Neill double feature as he popped up again a half hour later in a Cheers repeat as Cliff's dad.
It did keep with the continuity in later eps that Christine loves Chuck and Di. You can see her wearing the Chuck and Di slippers, then a couple years later in "A Closer Look" a reporter talks to her at length about her obsession with the Royal Family.
Yes, VCR timers are killers sometimes, but as they are fazed out I'd suggest saving for a tivo or dvr. One-touch timer setting, no need to set the clock or anything :).

Yes, they did show Mac and Harry moving the large rack. They accidentally tipped it and all the dishes went crashing off.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Sounds like I missed a funny episode. I'll have to make sure I don't miss it next time 'round.

The only stupid moment was where the gentleman friend, in the middle of the drama, pulls Christine aside to tell her her stuffed bear is adorable.

I love the part where Christine thinks Mr. Whiskers, her cat, is fighting and Harry is giving her this funny look..."That's not fighting" "Then what are they...?" Harry's look is SO funny!!! like, you really can't recognize that when you see it??? Christine's so naiive, its hilarious!!!
