it was in an episode about a young woman who had a baby girl....one or both of them was killed....they showed a sketch of a guy named robert allen who was thought be involved in the case, went missing and was presumed dead. that sketch was the single scariest thing I've ever seen in my life....that guy looked so evil, like he wasn't even human....the camera got really close up on it while the creepy music was playing and it was so scary....*shudders* anyone remember this episode or the sketch?

no, but i've had my share of sketch-artist terrors.
the one of richard ramirez haunted me for months (i was 9 when i saw it).
I'm trying to remember this case. Was it rerun on Lifetime? Do you remember anything else about the case? Anything at all (such as where or when it happened, or when it was shown on UM).

I remember this story on UM. What's terrible is that this guy has probably murdered several people, and the little girl has never been found at all.
It was alias Marvin Gabrion used. The real Robert Allen is believed to be dead, and Gabrion was prosecuted for Social Security Fraud. He's on Michigan's death row for murdering the girl he raped, Rachel Timmerman.
She was set to testify against him at the rape trial when she and her baby daughter disappeared. Rachel's body was found later on, but her daughter was never found. The guy that Rachel was supposed to meet when she disappeared is missing as well, and the segment on UM hinted Allen had got the man to ask Timmerman out so Gabrion could get access to her before the trial.
Marvin Gabrion. That's it. I remember that case. It's just that there was a generic description of the case at the start of the thread, so the Gabrion case didn't immediately cross my mind.
Yes, it is sad that Shannon hasn't been found. Since her mother Rachel is dead, I suspect that Shannon is too. There just isn't any evidence to prove it. :(
