Something that's always bothered me was they always say the reason for first bringing in spike for year four was to fill him in for Cordy.(eventually it would be Anya who does that), but I deidnt understand why they didnt just bring in harmony. I mean, thats what they did when cordy was killed from ANGEL. I think she would have been a great addition to the BUFFY cast. I like her a hell of a lot more than I ever did Spike.(Sorry everyone). What does everyone think of Harm joining in season four instead of spike?

Well, there is really no way to know way to know for sure if Mercedes would be willing to become a regular on the show anyways. Also they needed another male character to go along with Nicki and Tony (since Seth was leaving) on the show because in Season 4, Amber and Emma both joined the cast (as well as Blucas). I don't know how you can even think of this... James was absolutly brilliant,(not saying Mercedes isint, because I love her work as well) and possibly the most talented person on the show. And the Spike character grew so much. The whole landscapes for Seasons 4-7 would have been completly different if he hadn't joined the cast.

I loved both Harmony and Spike, but i like Spike better. I mean, it woudn't be good if Harmony had the chip like Spike, and she wouldn't have a soul, and it would just ruin the story (sorry Buffyboy323).

I loved Spike! I think he added so much to the show. As funny as Harmony was, she really wouldn't fit in with the Scoobies. I did really love it in Season Fouor when Spike and Harmony were "dating" (I use that term very loosely!) It was priceless to hear Harmony call Spike her "platinum baby!"

I loved when Harmony joined the cast of Angel. I change my mind now, because if she stayed on Buffy, she probably wouldn't have went on to Angel, and she was definately needed there (Spike as well), *again, to try and fill some of the void left by my beloved Cordelia.
