View Full Version : I just got pulled over by FOUR (4) cop cars!
Ags2000 10-19-2005, 01:25 AM I've finally stopped shaking (it's taken me over an hour for whatever reason)
I was at campus late working with a group from one of my classes. We finally break up around 11 tonight and head our seperate ways. I get in my truck, find a good station and start singing along. I pull out on the street and haven't even gone 2 block when I look and see red and blue lights behind me. I'm at a stop light so I'm thinking to myself there is no way he's trying to pull me over I haven't done anything. I wasn't speeding, I didn't forget my blinker, I didn't run a red light...must be the person in front of me.
Just to be sure I decide to make a right at the next street and pull into the parking lot of the University Police Station...they followed me (they now being 2 police cars). So I pull into the parking lot, cut off my lights, stick the truck in neutral and put the emergency break on. I then roll down my window while getting my license out the whole time thinking "What the hell do they want, I didn't do anything?" So this cop steps to the back of my truck, identifies himself as from U.P.D. (University Police Department) and instructs me to turn off my ignition and step out of the car.
Now I've been stopped by many cops before...I've also been in the cop cars helping with the stops...when they tell you to turn the ignition off...something's up. I'm thinking...okay keep my hands where he can see them at all times, don't reach for anything.
So I say "Yes Sir" turn the car off and step out of the car slowly with hands away from my body and to the side. He instructs me to come to the back of the car where he is (by this time there are now 4 FOUR cop cars there cops out all staring at me with hands on guns...I'm thinking **** what do they think I've done and do I have my lawyers's number in my cell phone) So I go to the back of my truck where he tells me to wait there. He walks up to my truck and with his flashlight looks into the truck.
He walks back to me (hand FINALLY off his gun) and tells me that they had a report of a white Ford F-150 pick-up truck driving erractically and that I was not it I was free to go.
I say okay sir, thank you very much then got in my truck, put on my seat belt and drove away...I got about a block before the shakes hit me. I was scared to DEATH. I mean, hell...all those freaking cops with hands on guns...damn!
So, being the nice daughter that I am....I pick up the phone and call my mom to help calm me down. I tell her what happened and she helped to calm me down so I can drive home safely.
So...(no the story doesn't end here) I'm starving..I had not eaten since about 11 this morning or something like that and I'm starving...so I stop at McDonalds on my way home. While I was in the drive thru line TWO (2) city cops drove by me flashing their flood lights at me and I guess deciding I wasn't who they were looking for and drove on.
I finally get on the road again to head home and guess what...yup followed by now a SEVENTH (7th) cop car for the night. DAMN!!! what the hell did this other guy do that all the freaking cops are going after me damn..I mean geeze can't you tell the difference between a Ford Ranger and a Ford F-150???
Look below...the ranger is on top. It's MUCH smaller then the F-150...I mean geeze anybody can tell the difference between the two.
Anyway...I've now calmed down but VERY wired and can't sleep. I'm going to try to find a book, curl up, and try to relax so I can go to sleep.

Karen* 10-19-2005, 01:29 AM :eek2: Aw man! That really bites! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I guess it just happened that you were in the wrong place at the wrong time...but that still sucks. I'd freak out if I were you too. Take some time to chill, okay? You need it. :(
ABlairican Pie 10-19-2005, 01:41 AM This is just way too FREEEEAAAAKYYYYY. :eek2: That is just a little too scary for words. ohno: Makes you think about getting a cool paint job. "Now officer, how many pink pickups do you see with purple unicorns on the side??"

LOL I've actually been thinking about getting an old space fighting scene from the original Star Wars put on my truck...but alas...I'm a poor college student and can't afford it so I guess I'll have to keep being pulled over when ever a moron in a Ford F-150 does something stupid during homecoming week.
D
Been there, done that.
;)
Kay Scarpetta 10-19-2005, 06:02 AM Oh man, D! I'd be scared ****less too. We all knew it had to be a mistake! ;)
ponytail 10-19-2005, 06:54 AM I feel for you. What a scary situation. At first I would have been scared but then the anger would have set in.
robyrob 10-19-2005, 09:46 AM i had something similar happen to me once - I was on a first date with some girl, we were going to some restaurant in this little strip mall, and apparently someone matching my description had just held up the bank at the other end of the strip mall. They threw me on the hood of my car (and forcibly held my face against the hood for about 30 minutes with some guy's arm jammed into the back of my neck and yelling at me) searched me, my date, practically tore my car apart... they finally let me go (and by this time there was a HUGE crowd of people staring and thinking that I was some sort of criminal) - without any sort of apology or anything, and we went into the restaurant to eat.
Not 15 minutes into our meal, 2 more cops came into the restaurant looking around, saw me, and you guessed it, asked me to stand up in the middle of the crowded restaurant, pulled me outside and started asking a bunch more questions... they finally let me go but they never answered MY question, what kind of bank robber would hang around to eat, especially after already being harassed by the cops the first time?
Pitooey 10-19-2005, 12:49 PM Ahhh you were put in such a scary situation. I feel for you...
Reading your post reminded me of a situation I'll never forget... Although I wasn't stopped like you - I was driving in Brooklyn and I stopped on a red light when all of a sudden I hear the blaring sounds of a police car. The sounds were coming closer and closer, louder and louder and then a police car makes a right turn and heads towards my car. My baby daughter and I were in the car at the time and I'll never forget the fear of almost getting hit. Luckily he swirved and didn't hit us. I was so shooked up after that.
Janice 10-19-2005, 01:33 PM That's too bad D. I feel for you. :(
About 20 years ago, I was driving alone at night. I noticed a cop car following me, and followed me for miles while before he pulled me over.
Next thing I know, I had two other cop cars pull in front and on the side of me. The cop behind me had obviously radioed them to barricade me in.
I had cops standing in front of my car with their guns drawn and pointed at me, screaming at me to get out of the car with my hand's up. I almost had a heart attack. Even writing this brings it all back and gives me the creeps.
What had happened was...weeks before, my car was stolen and recovered. Through a glitch, it was still listed in the police system as stolen.
Still, I think it was an over-reaction on the cop's part, even over a stolen car.

WOW!!! I guess I was lucky they never actually DREW their guns on me...man. It's funny now..I dreamed ALL last night I kept being pulled over by the cops for stupid reasons like the color shade of my car was too light and things like that... gee...I wonder what was on my mind.

Cops are pigs. pissed:
filburt1 10-19-2005, 07:35 PM You should spin in their faces.
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 10-19-2005, 07:46 PM  I would've been scared to death! Twice in one night, wow! I'd like to know what the F-150 guy did! I am starting to really hate cops. On my birthday we went to dinner and around 11:15pm, we were stopped by a police car. Really wasn't a big deal because the driver knew he was speeding a little bit. However, I am an epileptic and I am not supposed to be around flashing lights. So while he was waiting for my friend to get his license out, he flashing the flashlight in my face. My sister asked him to turn off his lights on his car cause they weren't making me feel too good and he said he would as soon as my friend read everything and signed. When I went home to tell my mom, she laughed. She said I should have had a fit just to see him wet his pants!

Nah, I have the greatest respecr for real cops...but these were campus cops that pulled me over. On campus they are known as Keystone Kops for just this reason.
They really shouldn't have pulled me over just b/c of a report of erratic driving of a white F-150 pick-up. I wasn't driving erratically so they shouldn't have pulled me over unless I was...follow me for a bit sure, but no pull me over.
My dad got PISSED when he found out what happened to me last night. He want to go talk to the captain and complain about the idiots under her command.
I don't think this other truck was only driving erratically. For them to react the way they did, it had to be something else they just didn't say.

What did they do to you when they got you out of the car?
TheGreatPretender 10-24-2005, 11:17 AM I'm sorry that happened. :(
