Madonna Keeps Kids From TV and Ice Cream

Sun Oct 16, 4:34 PM ET

NEW YORK - Madonna says she's the disciplinarian with 9-year-old Lourdes and 5-year-old Rocco.

The former material girl told Newsweek that she doesn't let her children watch TV or look at magazines. She says milk and ice cream are also off-limits.

"When Daddy gets home, they get chocolate," Madonna said. "I'm the disciplinarian."

She's also strict about laundry duties: If Lourdes leaves dirty clothes on the floor, "we take all of her clothes and put them in a bag, and she has to earn all of her clothes back by being tidy," Madonna said. "She wears the same outfit every day to school until she learns her lesson."

Lok at it this way; Madonna is trying to protect her children from some of the horrible things that pollute the TV landscape.

Like all of her movies.

TV, I can understand.

Milk, it's fattening, and technically, milk is for babies - I can let that go.

But ICE CREAM?! For the love of God, WHY?!

As one who freakin loves ice cream, why deprive the kiddies of one of the pure pleasures in life?!

That article also mentions that they don't read newspapers in the Madonna mansion either.

The TV deprivation isn't a bad thing - perhaps they'll develop good social skills. However - how are they supposed to keep up on current events and know what's going on in the world if they don't read a newspaper.

And let the damn kids have a bowl of ice cream every now and then!! Sheesh!!!

Those kids are going to see more on her tour than on TV and newspapers.......

Why deprive the children of Ice cream? It doesn't make sense... And newspapers?

Milk? That's just wrong. Milk, being one of the best sources of calcium, is a damn necessity. Unless her kids are lactose intolerant, they need milk.

No newspapers? Like the girl couldn't get newspapers at school.

From today's IMDB:

Pop queen Madonna has launched a broadside at modern life, insisting people need to change their behavior or they will go to hell. The Material Girl singer, who is a staunch follower of the mystical Offshoot of Judaism Kabbalah, believes the western world is chasing illusionary dreams which ignore the real issues that need addressing. She says, "(People) are going to go to hell if they don't turn from Wicked behavior... The material world... the physical world. The world of illusion, that we think is real. We live for it, we're enslaved by it. It will ultimately be our undoing."

Janice, could you post that "Hollywood Bitchslap" sign for me?
