Please disregard my other Oscar post. I tried deleting it, but for some reason I'm unable to. I thought I would just list every best picture oscar, from 1928, to 2004, and find out what the most popular is that way. You can choose more than one film, but please don't choose any more than 5. And the nominees are............

I have to admit that alot of those films I haven't seen, but here's my top 5 of the ones I have seen:

1. One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest
2. Rocky
3. Titanic
4. Schindlers List
5. Million Dollar Baby

I picked these as my five:
1.West Side Story
2.Rocky
3.Midnight Cowboy
4.Terms of Endearment
5.Titanic

In another time I would've picked The Deer Hunter, but I watched it again recently and I didn't think it was a strong as I used to think. West Side Story, Rocky and Midnight Cowboy are three of my all time top favorites.

I'm going to have to watch all of those before I make choices.

I love The Deer Hunter. :notworthy

Midnight Cowboy is really good, though a little dated.

After thinking about it, I figured that was probably the reason I was unable to delete it. Thanks for the info!!

I agree with you on that. The last hour I think is very good, but the first couple hours, especially the wedding, and the hunting stuff is really boring, and slow. You have to have a great attention span to sit through it.

Wings is one of my favorite TV shows. I didn't know it was the first Oscar winning movie.

my top 5 that I voted for
1. The Sound of Music
2. West Side Story
3. Gone With the Wind
4. Kramer vs. Kramer
5. My Fair Lady

rounding out my top 10
6. Oliver!
7. Ben Hur
8. Dances With Wolves
9. Forrest Gump
10. Driving Miss Daisy

As I mentioned once in another thread, Schindler's List and Braveheart are well acted and well produced movies. But they are too intense for me, I doubt I would watch a 2nd time. I liked Around the World in 80 Days some. But the recent TV show was more interesting with Leonie Benesch playing sexy Abigail Fix.

I chose movies I could watch over and over again. There are some very good movies that I probably wouldn't watch more than twice because they are too intense, as you say.

I chose:

Titanic, I remember making fun of it on the on the interrnet in 1997 but after I saw it the joke was on me.
The Sound Of Music, didn't see this until 1994. The soundtrack got me back into collecting Vinyl records.
Ben Hur, didnt see this until 2020
