also i wanted to let u know, since u are a gilligan fanatic i have some great stories of bob denver, i met him and spoke on the phone several times and he was such a great guy
so sad to see him go so young

thats great you met him. I love hearing stories like that. Stars today are always ignoring there fans where as Bob Denver seemed so nice on all the interview shows. I never got the chance to meet him but I did get his book from his site autographed and he signed it "To My Little Buddy Matt".

todays sitcom stars are used to gettting a million dollars a week and all the glitz, the stars of yesteryear were paid a lot less and were in an era when TV was not where it was at
tv was in a lower class than movies were

so i think they stayed in touch with the real world a bit more

not like todays sitcom stars

he was always so nice to me and always thanked me repeatedly for even the smallest gestures (like i sent him a copy of HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS ON GILLIGANS ISLAND and he was so thankful and gracious)
